Damn this is crazy. Every other thread in this section is about people getting pulled over for a catback and getting reffed.
I miss home so much but this is the only reason I don't mind being in Texas. Besides the fact that it sucks major ***, I don't have to be worried about getting a ticket for my **** every single time I'm driving.
Owning a modified import in NorCal seems like more trouble than its worth.

And I wouldnt connect the state or countries debt with the reason people are getting state ref'd a lot more now. There simply isnt enough police to pull over every single car with a modified exhaust, which is what it would take to put a dent into the states debt.

Well I never said that having a meet was a wrong or BAD thing to do. I think the Subaru community has already proven to almost everyone that they're anti-street racing, etc... But when you're looking at the the grand picture, the economy is sh*t, california's budget is sh*t. So any opportunity cops have to pull over x amount of cars for the x amount of dollars, is going to make money for the state.
I know for a fact that cops are indeed aware of the Coco meets and the cops are also aware of the UCKK meets, it's just going to be an opportunity to pull over good people like us.

Did you know that we have one of the oldest veteran UCPD officers used to hang with us on UCKK nights? He happens to be the uncle of an i-club member. He came by all the time when he had the beat passing through union landing.
Did you know that another member here has a HS buddy he ran into at UCKK who's a UCPD officer. That cop hung out with us as well while on a beat that included union landing.
Or Frank. A UCPD officer who ALSO hung out with us when he took over the beat. Frank came by time and time again.
Or that we have a member on i-club now who's in UCPD... Who says to not worry.
I think we are in ok shape with UCPD. As long as we don't trash the place and don't do stupid ****, we're going to be ok there.
I'm sorry to come across angry, but that meet used to have 75+ subies each meet, it was huge, and it took one blonde ***** cop rookie trying to be superduper cop that scared about 60ppl away. I don't want people to be scared away because all they are going to do is say "you can't loiter here" and we can just leave, or walk into a store.

Easy fix #1: Fine, don't go to meets. No one will blame you.
Easy fix #2: Arrive late, leave early, be discreet about it all and you'll be fine

Some of you just miss the point here don't you.
1)You have the constitutional right to assemble peacefully. This means so long as you are not forming a riot, or causing a problem they have no grounds to tell you to "move on". If you stand up for your right and are arrested, the ACLU will take your case, and you will end up a free man/woman. This will also result in the officers removal from the force, and the loss of 2-3 higher ranking officers removal or demotion.
2) For the folks that mod here, THINK before you mod. If you think things out, you can mod and appear nice and legal. (Hidden mods, parts made to look stock, stock parts cut/welded around modded parts, etc...)

"we" don't own that land, some person or company does. They have rules posted at every entry and on of them is loitering. We can't lioter, and we pretty much do, even if we have some jamba juice or something in our hands, we are there for HOURS. But regardless of that, if the owners ask us to leave and we don't then the police will be called to remove us. We are, again, on private property, someone elses and that means we don't have the right the assemble there.
2) This will help, but may not stop someone from writing the REF ticket. A lot of cops can look and tell that something doesn't look stock, or the car sounds louder than more normal, they'll just give the REF ticket anyways, it's all really based on suspicion.

Ever heard of "private property"?

2)Nothing you can do to stop ALL of it, but you can minimize it. Also if the officer writes or says he got you for sounding "too loud" and did not have a state regulated DB meter, then go to court. The ticket will be tossed out on the spot.
Dude,
There is nothing wrong in having a meet. If you don't want to risk it, that's your decision to make, but don't make out the past two busts as if all meets are going to be this way.
UCKK, which i frequented for like the past 6 years, is pretty damn clean. We don't cause issues, we are patrons... UC now has real shootings and stabbings, so cops are little more busy nowadays anyways.

1)OH, I understand about private property, that right to assemble stuff only counts on public property or private property you have direct permission to be on.
