i looked at those, they're nice. my wife wants to get a rid of her rustang and get an suv. so far the top candidate is a toyota Sequoia, with the 4 runner in close second.

Cool...we briefly checked out the Sequoia, but it's more expensive, and really feels like an american car on the inside. (Puffy leather, weird ovals everywhere, etc).

But the Armada looks and interior are not for everyone.

I don't understand why people hate SUV's so much. I really like your choice that you made, those are nice.

Mostly, it's that people seem to just need something to hate. I can understand a dislike for such an in-efficient mode of transporting ONE person arround, but then - there are plenty other even more grossly environmentally un-friendly things to be upset about, it seems like a simple scapegoat for the ignorant yet self-proclaimed nature-savvy to pin the world's problems on. I think Excursions are silly, so I don't drive one.

I had a Pathfinder for a long time. It was a nice car. It was extremely useful to me, and lots of my trips and work moves could not have been done without it. When I didn't need it anymore, I sold it. If you have no need for a SUV, then great - but it doesn't mean that no one else can have a need for one either. Note that it's not everyone else's fault when some soccermom in a SUV does something stupid. When you have a stroller/20 servers/5 people on the way to Tahoe/crap to move/kids/pets/etc a SUV will be an awesome, convenient, lockable, nice vehicle. The gas is expensive, but that's the price to pay for the space.
