I don't need anyone one in the car to talk to. I'm normally so caught up in the driving i rarely speak.
What do you mean you're heading out. You said that you were busy this weekend.

more scouting is in order
If I told you where those pictures were taken it won't be a suprise when you get there.
Yesterday I drove the first 6 legs which got me to Clear Lake.
I still need to drive the unpaved route from Hopland to Lakeport, then look towards points north.
You guys that are joining us on the 11th and 12th, would you prefer coastal routes or inland?
Between Ukiah and Garberville there are some good roads on both sides, with the heat yesterday I wished I had chosen roads closer to the coast for the Saturday morning sections, but it should be a little cooler in a month.

A nice mix of coast and inland is in order. That was one of the nice parts of our last run. Started driving thru sun dappled trees, up into low cloud cover, down rolling hills, along the coast, up into some heavy fog and back down into forest.

bump with another pic-
so I think bushido is going on the roster as a co-rallymaster, we still have openings for 2 teams, anyone else want to join us?

Huck, I've got you down and am counting on you running, I just want to try to line up some more people to compete with you guys on the timed parts, enjoy the driving, and party down with us in the redwoods on Saturday night.
Absolutely required:
An appreciation for twisty roads and going new places, trying new things, we are looking for people with a sense of adventure!
What you'll generally need:
Gas money (plan on 800 miles worth at least)
A car in good working order with safe tires
a co-driver/navigator
camping gear sufficient for one night in a car-camping situation.
"good to have" things would include:
dramamine for the navigator
palm pilot with "clock fix" and "Rallytimer" software apps
Video, digital, or other camera, film, tape, batteries -all that crap.
Hi-liter pens, clipboard.
and of course, beverages of your choice for enhancement of storytelling time around the campfire

Coastal i guess. mixed in with some big hills and or small mountains will do just fine.
I'm for sure running solo for the ride unless i can talk my friend Mike into coming along.
For around the camp fire a nice bottle of wine for me. I'm a much more animated story teller under the influence.
So pete let's have the list of people planning to go. Or at least # of cars

OK, so go back check the first post in the thread- I'm trying to keep that updated so that way anyone discovering the thread knows what's up and doesn't have to dig through all the rest of this stuff.
And bushido- if we go out scouting together next weekend, I'll make sure you don't find out where I'm putting checkpoints, I don't want to give you any unfair advantage!
So that leaves only one entry to be filled
- Leo?
-any of you other guys?
It's sure to be one of those drives you'll remember long after it's over!

So Pete where is the "rally" going to start from. Originally i thouht we were all going to drive up to hombolt and do our driving them come back. But it's starting to sound like we're going to be starting somewhere around here and working our way North.
About the last driver, i'm going to ask Dropkick_muppet to come along. He's a huge rally WRC fan.
