Newcastle drinkers...

Anyone know where in the bouts of fairfield/vacaville area I could find some Newcastle in can form? I've only been able to find it at Beer, beer, & more beer in Concord. I actually prefer the can to the bottle on this one. Oh and yes I have checked BevMo...no success

Well I've never had a bad/skunky newcastle in bottle form but some people who homebrew believe exposing a clear bottle with beer in it to light can turn it bad. I grabbed a few for the hell of it out of pure novelty and found it to be smoother and I kinda like it a little more. I just don't want to drive waaaaay out of my way to concord just to get some

Cans?!?

Newcastle rarely ever goes bad in a bottle unless it's old and has been sitting in a beer fridge for a long time..

Yeah...I don't drink many beers out of the can. Not due to preferance in taste or anything but just never did...we always had bottles around instead.

funny that you would post this. I found new castle in canned form a while back and also found it to be much smoother than out of the bottle. its almost as good as new castle from tap.

Just after Boddingtons (where cans are good), Anchor Steam and Guinness (more good cans), Newcastle is right up there.

I see why you'd prefer the can.

I drink my Guinness from cans unless its available on tap. I don't like it too much from bottle.

I think the likeliness of it going bad from light exposure is less than that of it tasting like crap because it's from a can...

i think new castle would hate you for liking the can, but imo its a great beer either way.

i've only seen it in can form at a gas station.

Hmm I don't remember ever seeing a Newcastle can. You know they are owned by Heineken now right? There's a brewery in SF - 21st Amendment between brannan and bryant on 2nd I think. Awesome food/beer, very expensive and they serve some of their beers in cans. They say it stays fresher. Never tried it but I usually don't like cans. Have heard the bottle thing before tho...
