I worked this past summer at Lawrence Livermore. I personally live in Pleasanton. If you're starting a family, I would really recommend Pleasanton (schools are better) over Livermore/Tracy.

I really have no idea where in Livermore, since I haven't been to the area yet. Nor have I accepted the job offer but more likely I will.
