New windsheild

Help.... Just had my windsheild replaced and dont remember what it looked like before. The new rubber gasket thing now goes over the roof rail, and I dont remember if it went over or under. Was the guy lazy and did not want to take the roof rack rails off? Or is the gasket suposed to go over? I can send crappy text pics from my phone if anyone want to help me out.

ps its an 05 wagon if you could not tell from the question

Some one with a wagon go look at the windsheild gasket where it meets the roof rails, please.

[not my car] I'm having a tough time visualizing what you mean. My recollection looks like the picture above; the roof rails aren't even close to the windshield.

not the rails-the plastic cover for the channel the rails mount in, the windsheild gasket looks like it should go under it but it is ontop of the plastic cover??

and thanks for the response...

I gotcha. I can't check my car at the moment, but from the pics it looks like they just kinda meet up.

If a better answer hasn't turned up by this evening I'd be happy to take a look at mine, post-commute.

Taking roof rails out requires you to remove the headliner. I guarantee that isn't necessary for changing your windshield.

The roof rail molding ends at the windshield rubber, they don't interlock or connect. Doesn't really tuck under or over. When you remove it it does come out over the top of the windshield seal.

I already had a glass guy do the work, after he left I looked at it closer and it just looks funny to me. the glass seal goes over the roof rail molding, seems like water could go under the seal.
