New Suby Time - Need Info From The Club-I
New Suby Time - Need Info From The Club-I
A good friend of mine at work is looking to get into a new car. He's approximately 6'1" tall. Somehow he's been driving an S2000 for a few years even though it sets his back on fire with pain after more than an hour in the seat.
I got him extremely interested in a new STi after telling him my story:
I've had my 2005 STi since September of 2004. It's been stg2+ headers with a protune (from Mike) since about 6k miles (68k now). My car sees WOT multiple times per day and I've never had an issue. I've owned my STi for over 5 years, and I still LOVE driving it.
The new STi is less "boy racer" (read no wing), so he entertained the conversation. All it took was a few hours of internet research and he's pumped about a test drive.
Here's where you guys come in:
Should he get a 2009 or wait for a 2010?
Where's a good comparison site if there is any info about the 2010 out?
MSRP is $34,999 +options...what's the dealer cost/what should he be LOOKING to get?
Where should he test drive/buy from? I got mine from Livermore Subaru..and honestly got kinda boned. Haven't been back since (thanks for the awesome car, glad we never saw each other again Livermore haha).

This basically leaves us with G35/37, 350/370, EVO, low end 3 series BMW, and some others I don't believe we mentioned in our talks. I'm pretty sure he's staying away from heavier cars (American) and the new Taurus
It's QQ thankyouverymuch

I'm 6'1" and I am pretty comfortable in my '09 2.5i. There is not much of a difference between the 2009 and 2010 and you can get a 2010 now. I would say just check the inventory for the local dealers and see what is out there. When you find something that will be good go take it for a spin.

Lol, guess the guys are just being honest.
Did he track/autocross the s2k? If he's into tracking/autox then the STi is a good bet. But if not, for the same price, he can get a 135i. Tho if he wants any of the luxy stuff, the options start to stack up. I got mine barebone with just metallic paint and has loved the car ever since. I still have suby love and will probably get a wagon once i get a dog, but you can't go wrong with a 135i.
