Look into the Dell XPS 140. I just bought one for my wife and got it shipped for just over $1,100. It's light and pretty quick. It has a dual-layer DVD burner, lots of USB 2.0 slots, built-in wireless, Firewire port, slots for SD and some other memory card types, >60 GB HDD, and 512 KB RAM.

The movies play well on the large screen, but I haven't loaded any games on it yet.

im hearing this alot, guess notebook technology is just not up to par for games. the notebooks that are out right now to play games are just over clocked, run super hot, and with time break down.

DAMNit! my desktop plays the game with no problems but i freaking hate being confined to it...

its either this or a custom portable game tower to fully support 2 NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT running and a HD tv tuner card so its hooked up to play on tv's.

**** i hate games! oh and my screen name is -ZUM-

Unless there's a universal binary for the game he'd have to wait until Microsoft catches up to the current generation of Intel motherboards for that to be worthwhile. XP can't run on the Intel hardware Apple is using yet, we might have to wait for Vista for them to catch up.
