I <3 thinkpads. One of the best PC notebooks you can get is a Thinkpad, they are not cheap though.
If you don't take your laptop out much, you're probably fine with another dell.

Get something Centrino/Pentium M or Intel Duo core, 512MB-1GB RAM, 7200RPM hard drive, built in wifi, and high resolution LCD.

I would not waste money on alienware.

Go with a thinkpad(was by IBM, now by Lenovo), or a cheap Dell.

Good luck!

If you think you'll actually need to upgrade the video card in your mobile system then get an alieanware with PCI-X. Otherwise get something else.

Also check out tomshardware.com for mobile system performance comparisons, they give pretty graphs and numbers.

dude, please do not waste your money on a POS overpriced alienware.

my friend does computer sales for his own business out of hollywood area.
call him up, his name is slava, tell him greg talked to him about the powerful laptop deal.. i think it's gonna be about 2200 bucks or so, and it will demolish an alienware and cost about half of one...

805.577.9690 is his number.. his name is slava.. (hes ruski)

I recommend a Sager. Not as swanky looking as an alienware but same laptop for much less. Read the following info on laptop manufacturers:
http://www.powernotebooks.com/articl...fullnews&id=17

I guess this is their site now but I've never seen it before.
http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.html

Other places to buy sager:

if you PM me, i can point you towards one of my friends. he builds laptops so there is a variety of options that you can get. decent price, but it's not dell cheap. but then again...he's not a fan of dell. my pops bought a laptop off of him earlier this year and so far he loves it.

You're going to play BF2 on a laptop? Most desktops can't even get decent frame rates with that poorly written game. I'm addicted too though....

What Screenname do you use?
I'm pretty sure mine is Chrisnonstop

Buy my dell that I have for sale.

inspiron 9300
pentium-m 2.0
2 gig ddr2
256 nvidia go 6800
8x dvd burner
60 gig hd 7200
17in wxga screen
I think I still have another year left on the dell warranty also, bought it last october. Plays BF2 no problem, has really no problems with any current games.

seriously, I couldn't imagine running that game on a laptop.

My screenname is cook2s. I am on pretty much everynight of the week for some duration.

Are you guys on bf2tracker?
