Rims would be a good excuse to upgrade the rubber, but tires would actually be the first thing to me - kill 2 birds with one stone. Then more suspension including the sways, and when the first set of brakes wear out, upgrade those.

Exhaust though is personal preference though (tone, loudness, drone etc...). Lots of people like plug and play but I don't mind going the custom install route. For instance I've always used Remus exhausts and had a universal installed on my 05. There's a Remus distributor in Emeryville and shipping is one day for bay area. Just get the dimensions and talk to a muffler shop. btw I've gotten alot of positive feedback on the sound.

Lots of good advice from others here especially auto-x. You'll get a good baseline feel for the setup and go from there, although to get more out of your engine I'd recommend light weight wheels to reduce your rotational mass. Each pound saved per wheel is similar to 10lbs savings in the chassis. Weight savings is king. That allows for faster course times and then you'll want bigger sway bars and height reduction for tighter handling and eventually bigger brakes for later braking before turn in. Lots of options to get the most fun out of your car.

And thank you everyone else for the ideas!
