new dccd?

i think i messed up my DCCD. is was all me. stupid me.
in a stupid accident, my two tires blew and two rim got damaged. the tire shop is fixing my rim but meanwhile they gave me some loaner wheel...2 350z wheels in the back with 235 tires (keep in mind that 225 tires in the front)
me.. without thinking just drove off, never really thought about how i would damage the differential until not long ago..
now when i shift my DCCD... it jerks the car...
i am getting my original wheels back tomorrow.. i doubt anything will get any better.

you think by any way that the warrenty might cover that?

I don't think your warrenty would cover it. If anyone, it would the shop that gave you the wheels/tires. Good luck!

The tire width shouldn't matter, it should be tire size in diameter that matters. Your DCCD should function without any problems, there are people that run 17x9 in the front and 17x8.5 in the rear and it does not destroy their center diff.

The diameter of a 225/45-17 is smaller than 235/45-17 by only 0.3 inches, which translates into 12 more revolutions per mile. Will this cause issues with the DCCD I have no idea, just tossing the numbers out there (thanks to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html)

Maybe cause it's in the locked position, Mine would clunk around corners and such when it was in anything other then the last green.

Sorry to kinda go off top...but I read in SCC this past issue about using the different width rims too. But didn't quite get the just of the reason for it all. Why run narrower tires in the rear vs same width tires?

Yup.

As for how much it's going to cost: my guess is, a few grand. I'd say more than 3K if it is broken. That's painful.

but still using the same size tires, right? but it would seem that even if you did use the same size tires that they would be slightly smaller or taller on one vs the other due to the rim width and the tires fitting differently...does that mess up anything with the diff?
