Need a vocalist for my band
Craigslist hasn't brought us much. If you sing, or know someone that does and is looking to be the frontman for a new band, please PLEASE send them my way! My number is 925 330 3097 and my email is wrx230 [at] gmail [dot] com
We play rock / alternative style and our influences include Saosin, Circa Survive, and Thrice. Preferably we would like someone in their 20's, or even late teens being that the four of us range from 19 to 23. Looking "scene" would also be awesome...but if ya can't sing ya can't sing.
The band currently consists of me, and three other guys. Two of them drive evo's, so that makes 1 wrx and 2 evo's in the band. Maybe a second wrx to even things out? We have been playing for about 3 months and already have around 8 songs down and ready to be played. We stopped writing so that the future vocalist isn't in over their head when they join.
*** We are not looking to be a screamo band, we like melody and clarity 99% of the time ***
*** We need someone that can project their voice and has a decent range ***
We have permanent studio space in walnut creek, and play 3-4 times a week usually at night after business hours. We have a complete recording setup, with everything mic'd 24 x 7 so that when we play, we can wear sound isolating headphones with our own custom mixes. We are ready to record an album and start playing shows, but we are stuck without a vocalist.
It should be very easy for us to get shows at slims, blakes, etc.
I put up a quick demo of one of our songs, we recorded it the other night while having a practice. Its not mixed or eq'd, it was all live so we do mess up, but its a taste of our style. Also it was a quick recording so I only used 8 channels, which means that 5 of my drum mic's aren't being heard in this :/. It was also only recorded t 44.1khz and yada yada, Oh well. Basically we will have better quality when we record :P.
http://www.blackhawkit.com/i-club/song2-demo.m4a Its in mpeg4 format, so you need quicktime or itunes, which actually come together these days. Keep in mind everything is subject to change, as we are constantly improving or tweaking parts.
Again if you or anyone you know could be a possibility, please give me a call or shoot me an email. We are all friendly guys and welcome anyone to come give it a shot, we have the mic and PA waiting for you.

AWESOME song! Thrice is my favorite band. Hard music without death screaming. I've never really sang out of my car...i sound like the guy from Third Eye Blind lol my voice is too deep ive always thought. Im good at voices though
but keep the music coming, or let us know when youre playing anywhere, especially south bay!

hmmm, I might be interested. I've sang with a couple bands before, nothing big. I only have one or two recordings, but they were with a ****ty setup so i don't sound that great. It'd be cool to get out there to listen to you guys and maybe try some stuff though.
BTW, I've got an STi. (=

I wouldn't have a problem trying you out, but even if we liked you, I think the distance would discourage the band from choosing you, even if you were better than somebody that was closer. We want someone thats probably not any more than an hour away. Just fremont is ~40 minutes. Not to mention the distance would wear you out, even if you think now that it wouldn't. I'm just trying to look out for the band in the days ahead, you know what I mean? If you still want to give it a shot, PM me.
