Need someone in the South Bay to cut some wood

Does anyone have the means for precision woodwork in the South Bay? I need to cut a 2x8 into a few sections, and the idiots at Home Depot already screwed up $10 worth of wood by not cutting straight.

So is there anyone in the South Bay that can help me out? Obviously there will be compensation via beers or cash.

Building something just like this, so obviously being straight and level is important to sealing properly.

I almost titled it "Can someone help me with some wood"

Seriously though, I need to get this thing built and have to access to a miter saw or table saw.

How straight? Cross cut or rip?If you need to rip something and don't have access to wood tools Southern Lumber has a full wood shop, they will cut anything you want how you want. Home depot has just got a panel saw and a radial arm. I've got a Miter saw and a skill saw. You should be able to do most things with this.

Thanks Jeff, I'll check out Southern Lumber on Friday. I need these pieces cross cut pretty straight because I'm basically building a box that needs to sit flush on the freezer. The ones from Home Depot have nearly a half inch gap once assembled because the guy I guess didn't bother to line everything up.

How big is the stock. If you need it cross cut,(against the grain) do it with the mitre saw. I've got a compound you can use. It looks like you are using 1x6 fir. If it was good enough for my kitchen cabinets it'll sure as hell work for a kegerator.

I had gotten 2x8 fir from Home Depot. I'll see if I can borrow the van this weekend so I can pick up another 10 ft section and give you a call.

Southern Lumber FTW, kind of. The wood is definitely good quality, but they only had 1x6 in knotty pine (didn't want the exotic woods) instead of 2x6. Just means I'll have to add some insulation to the back side. No biggie. Price was the same as Home Depot's 2x6 but for this small of a project 1/2 the amount of wood for the same price is manageable.

LOL forgot about this. Translation: If you know what you are doing and how to operate a portable circular saw, you simply fabricate yourself a jig and you are set.

Nice!! I found a roll of sticky-back 1" wide .25" thick rubber insulation stuff at OSH and it's super helpful for all kinds of things. Might work for this, I dunno.

I was just going to go for the sheet of 1" thick foam insulation.
