Need some part(s) from the junkyard?

I had to return something that I didn't need to the Subie junkyard (Sacramento) and was given a credit ($240). So now I have a couple of questions:
1) Should I buy some STi part(s) for my stock '03 powertrain if anything can be had for that price, and if so, what?
2) If anyone here needs something from the JY I could get it for you at a slight price break in order to cash out my credit. Let me know if you need something!

-Bill

There's a Subie junkyard in Sac? Awesome!

I went to a Nissan junkyard there years ago and got some great deals.

Thanks for the suggestions!! I'm a bit wary of just getting a bigger turbo, as I assume that I'd really have to install the whole exhaust system, intercooler, and get a tune to make that all work. That'll blow my car budget. I imagine that I could start with the uppipe and/or intercooler though. What years would fit? '02 through '05? '06-'07 too?

What is the sti steering rack ratio change?

not so fast, the sti turbo is a direct replacement for the wrx. It only needs a larger intercooler and tune.

up-pipes are all interchangeable regardless of year.
intercoolers aren't too bad, IIRC the 06+ has a slightly different bracket system but nothing some bending wont fix

Turbo bolts right up, howver, you would probably want to manually dial down teh boost or better, get new injectors and a tune.

STi steering rack is a quicker steering ratio. It means you dont have to turn the steering wheel as far, giving the car a "quicker" feel and more instant steering input

Thanks for the feedback! I'll chew on this while I'm in Hawaii for two weeks.

Some of the junk yards in Hayward get Subies sometimes.

The Sacramento yard doesn't get STi's... so, I'd imagine that finding anything STi there is going to be next to impossible and.... most of the locals will have already picked the cars to death.
