Hopefully you've learned a lesson and will keep your speed down in the Bay Area. There's a time and place for testing top speed and it isn't anyway near here!
It is possible to cruise @ 120 (and faster) for up to 130 miles ... legally on certain roads at certain times of the year. Entry fee is equivalent to cost of speeding ticket, but no points and no increased insurance costs. Check out these websites:

Glad you clarified which part of 58! There's cows on certain sections of 58 ... don't ask me how I know

Oh, the VC the officer says you violated would still be nice. That is, if you want some help with the ticket.

Yet you admitted to cruising along at 120mph... What were you expecting? A pat on the back? You cannot post that and expect people to not give you some ****.
As to CVC 22349:
It looks like he was aiming at 22349(a). As far as fines are concerned, this is less than if he had written you up for going over 100mph (felony) or even unsafe speed for conditions. You really don't have much wiggle room here. The cop was already being nice by writing the ticket for 100mph, you don't want to push that.
My personal recommendation is to eat the fine, do traffic school, and move on. If you push for something like a reduced fine, the officer might not take to kindly to that.
As to CVC 22349:
Maximum Speed Limit
22349. (a) Except as provided in Section 22356, no person may drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than 65 miles per hour.
(b) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no person may drive a vehicle upon a two-lane, undivided highway at a speed greater than 55 miles per hour unless that highway, or portion thereof, has been posted for a higher speed by the Department of Transportation or appropriate local agency upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey. For purposes of this subdivision, the following apply:
(1) A two-lane, undivided highway is a highway with not more than one through lane of travel in each direction.
(2) Passing lanes may not be considered when determining the number of through lanes.
(c) It is the intent of the Legislature that there be reasonable signing on affected two-lane, undivided highways described in subdivision (b) in continuing the 55 miles-per-hour speed limit, including placing signs at county boundaries to the extent possible, and at other appropriate locations.

then whats the gonna do in court? go back on what he wrote on my ticket? thats dishonesty on his part, and quite frankly i wish i had asked for the radar cos i dont think he clocked me at all, what might of happened he saw me hauling *** faster than other 2 cars on the road and based my speed off that.
In a courtroom a lot can happen. The judge will look for facial expressions, they'll listen to tone, they'll listen to the facts. If you go asking for a fine reduction the officer will no doubt put an expression on his face that wreaks of betrayal. The judge will surely see this and will take that in to consideration. The officer gave you a break, and now you're pushing it. TicketAssassin will tell you to ask for the reduction, I'm telling you that you already got it.

You're young, still obviously testing the limits. Learn from this and move on. You'll be a better and safer driver.
BTW, I've had my share of speeding tickets, done a variety of driving schools, have many more miles under my belt than you, yet know I still have much more to learn.

Your first mistake was going 120mph. Your second was hitting the brakes. At that moment the officer knew that you knew you were going to fast and he had you. Sure, he didn't know your exact speed (be glad) and probably didn't hit you with radar, but he doesn't have to. The law says that an officer can issue a ticket or make an arrest if they believe in good faith that you have violated the law.

as far as i know he'll have to go to court no matter what being that the ticket was written for 25+ over the max limit. i doubt that he'll be able to send in a written declaration.
