Need outside opinions on customer service issue

So I will try to make this as short and to the point as possible,as I know people don't like to read long threads and I'm not the best writer. So this has to do with my build that is or was going to be done by a shop I am not going to name. It is going to be a built block with a GTX3071 stock location, top mount with all supporting mods. My issue has to do with lack of follow up or courtesy calls as to what is going on with parts and my block.

For example when I got my quote for about 17k to complete this build I paid about $6800 up front for my block and other parts. The first batch of parts took over a month to get and I had to constantly call and follow up on them to figure out when they were showing up,not the biggest deal. When I pick them up and order my turbo and other stuff another $4k or so I try to get a time line for when my block will be done. They say they are busy with some events coming up and when they got back to building customer motors there was one guy in front of me. Ok that's fine.

So now we are three months in from the time of purchaseing the block and I havn't heard anything,so I call to try and get some answers, but get no solid time frame.Follow up again then the person I talked to says well we have some blocks but we don't know who they are for so you will get a call back.

So at this point I figured if I pre payed a block there should be a build sheet with my name on it as a customer and when it's done I get called to pick up or schedule a install right? So I get my call back and they say well we have a block for you but we have some one that is ready to install now and wants the same spec block as you so do you mind if we install for him and get you one in two weeks out of the next batch? Me being a nice guy I say sure as long as I get the next one ready in two weeks. Call yesterday and they say oh well rods just came in but we will have it ready for pick up tomorrow around the end of the day,me ok thanks. Today I leave work early for my 100mi plus drive to pick it up,decide to call to let them know I may be there right at closing due to traffic and not to supprise they say oh we are leaving early today sorry! This is after telling me to come late in the day yesterday. Again no courtesy call to tell me they will be shutting down early, just left me hanging so I had to turn around and go home.

Now this is the third dry run to this place after telling them I'm coming, with out a freakin courtesy call,no respect for my time or me as a customer. So after four months I still don't have my block regardless if I'm ready to install it or not, shoudn't matter it's product I paid for. Especially when 2-4 week turn around times are advertised. So I want to know am I over reacting by not wanting to do buisness with this place,or is this how builds go as this is my first one. I feel for already spending 10k or so my buisness is not apreciated.

So if in my shoes would you just suck it up and deal, wait the block out and finish else where or just get refunded and move on? I havent expressed my feelings to the shop yet as I was just seeing red earlier and wanted to simmer down and get a outside opinion before taking action. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this and respond.

I would expect better costumer service regardless of the amoun spent. I say keep on them twice a week until you get your product and then never use them again.

There is a shop, a sponsor on here, that does great work, but I don't like their service. So I refuse to do business with them.

The hard part for you is, they already have a good chunk o your money. Just keep the tabs on them, get your stuff and then do business elsewhere.

Thanks for the input, would you finish out the build with them or look for alternatives? Because of the lack of customer service I have sourced all my other parts myself. So the only thing remaining is to get my block and pay labor for install and tunes.

1) if they are acting like that and treating customers like that you SHOULD call them out so the rest of us know to avoid the place.
2)Pull your things, take it up to RMBS and let Mert build it, bet you have it back faster and done right.
3)Again, please post up the shop name so the rest of us don't get SCREWED by them as you are being.

I would finish it elsewhere. There are a number of quality shops in the bay, that can do installs and either can do the tune or have resources to get it done.

I am personally using rbms for just about everything, including a monster build. An I mean monster...

Too much money to not have the block done already. If it was me i would call them and demand my money bsck if they dont get their asses inline.
The call about the block that was ready needing to go to someone else first i eould have been like no problem. Ill take my 10large and give it to someone else who wants my business.

The thing is,this shop is on here and does great work from what I have researched, but I feel like I have been getting the run around because I am not ready for my install yet,and the people that are get priority. I dont want to name the shop becuase I know they have a faithfull following here and don't want to start a flame war. But feel free to pm me if you want.

Yeah that did come to mind as Mert has already worked on my car and gives killer prices for his ability as a tech.

Its up to you, and I wouldn't say calling out a shop for bad customer service is a "flame war". Any "faithful" following they have, should be objective and if you have been screwed over, ready to walk away from them...or they are just fanboys.

This is the big problem here, people are afraid to call out people/shops/parts that are bull****, out of fear of backlash or "oh they are on here" Trust me, someone screws me over, this whole forum is going to know about it, even if they are a sponsor here.

My suggestion, call them, say "I Have paid you XXXX dollars, you have tell X date to finish and deliver. My call on X-1 day, is to a lawyer."(ONLY if they do not respond to a last proper and polite query)

In that case, it can only be one of 2 shops, if it is the first one, I am genuinely surprised, I Have never had problems there. If it is the other one, then not only am I not surprised, but would expect such as they are a absolute crap shop.
