How are you blowing transmissions? What kind of mileage? Mileage when it blew last time? Just curious.

The first time it blue my friends and I were driving to their house with regular driving. At a light regular shifting from 1st to 2nd it blew. This time I just finished my oil change and I decided to drive around my neighborhood to get the oil flowing. When I reached a stop sign I didnt launch her. I was regularly dive due to the fact of other cars around me, but I kept her in 1st gear until about 30 to 35 mph then when I shifted in to second ... it blew again. My second tranny had about 80k on it and seen some track days ... so I'm not that surprised but it just sucks.

^Definitely worth considering if you're going to keep the car for a while.

save up and get cryo treated RA gears (cryo treating is what makes them much stronger, just regular RA gears will be slightly stronger, but not super strong).

Heres a way to look at it... how much did you spend on the 2nd tranny? how much will you be spending on this 3rd tranny? Is the total of those more or less than the cost of RA gears?

So how often do you change into second at 35mph?

Sounds to me like regular tranny abuse. After blowing your first tranny you would think that you would baby number 2.

Unless you've got the cash laying around for a 6 speed conversion you need to take it easy on your 5MT.

I agree with glenspen, that (keeping it in first) is weird, 30 to 35mph in 1st gear = high rpm.
