Need help - Lemans Karting faster times
I've only done the all you can drive thing once, but I find that if I eat about 2 hour ahead of the race and keep drinking water every 30 minutes or so until 1 hour before the race I was in a very good shape. The first time I went out I was so darn tired even after the first 20 minutes. Then the following month I did 3 sessions with ~20 minutes in between I was just fine after the whole thing.
I think the best is to drive for 20 and rest for 20. That way we can re-hydrate and talk about strategies in between. I moved from mid 23 to low 20 after getting 'tricks' from others and apply them during the following session.

Any special event going on that I need to plan around?

Hey Guys,
Is that drive till you drop thing still valid? I went to the site and didn't see it up there under pricing nor in specials. When is it offered and how much is it? I'd be down for like a once a month kart racing meet (maybe even two
).

As for grip on the track, what I find is that you really do need to shift your weight, do everything you can to get the weight on the propper side. I use the foam things that you can stuff in the seat to give a tighter fit. Also what you need to do is not necesarily apex 100% correct, but you need to find where the grip. It kind of shifts around to some unlikely spots, and it might not look like a good idea to hit it, but if you do, your times will reflect it.
And for whomever mentioned turn 6, what I do is gun it out of 5 right towards 6, tap the brake, drop throttle for a split second and then get right back on it, usually tracking out to the middle portion of the track. Being that I already kill people with that turn, I can usually stay on the inside and pass people like mad if I get through 6 well - my record is 4 between 6 and 7 :P.
If anyone is going down before the 28th of this month, send me a PM - I am always looking for people to race with down at LK.

IE, if it's a right turn, do I lean OUT (left) for more grip on the outside wheels or lean IN (right) to help the inside wheels add grip along with the outside?

First of all, thank you everyone for sharing all the informations.
I just got back from Lemans Karting tonight. My friend and I, ran 2 practices and a combo. The current track layout looks quite similar to the picture attached, except for some minor changes to a few turns.
I started my first practice run at 9:30pm. Outside temperature was about 63F to 66F. I weighed about 195lbs and stands 5'8". My first run (10 min practice) was on Kart 12 and my best lap was 0:19.677. The second run (combo race) netted me my second fastest lap, which came in at 0:19.491. On the third run (10 min practice), I was a tad quicker and pulled a 0:19.487. THANK YOU to the person/s that recommended Kart #7. I ran the last two stints on Kart 7 with a full load of fuel.
Here is what works for me.
As I was coming down the start and finish line, I would steer early into a corner causing a slight oversteer (scary at first but you will get used to it once your confidence grows) and regain traction while i am at the apex of turn 1. So...it is wide open throttle thru turn 1 and 2. I started turning right at the start and finish line.
Going into turn 3, I would stay on the outside wall and brake into the corner, causing oversteer and that oversteer actually sets me up for Turn 3a. On 3a, I found a lot of grip on the inside of the turn. I would go wide heading to Turn 4and turn sharply into Turn 4. If you set yourself up right at Turn 4, coming out of 4a should be a fast one (stay on the inside line and watch out for the slick patch). I found out that, leaning to the outside coming out of 4a, helps. There is a slick patch between 4 and 4a. If you messed up your apex going into 4, that patch is not very forgiving.
Coming out of 4a, it is wide open throttle until i reach the apex of Turn 5, and there is where i started to brake until i reach Turn 6 and then let off the brake. I gradually accelerate out of 6 (watch throttle control here) and it is all wide open throttle until I reach turn 3.
Again...thanks for all the tips posted on this thread. Kart 7 Rules!!
