Need help finding a south bay apartment

So my dad is planning to live on his own. He's almost 60 years old.

He's very active and wants to be near the santa clara area since he wants access to the asian scene there (food and stores).

He's retired so something on teh cheap is ideal. Max of $1K/month...prefer lower obviously.

Anyone have any tips?

thanks.

Add craigslist too and look around in the south bay. You might want to see if he qualifies to live in senior citizen apartments. He might be too young, but it doesn't hurt to check.

there are plenty of communities that allows only 55+ to live in the complex. shouldn't be a problem to find one.

if this is what you're looking for, my great grandmother stays at a place called rincon gardens in campbell. Don't know how much rent is, but it can't hurt to check.

Thanks for the suggestions.

rent.com is a great site. I've got some leads.

A for the senior housing, that's definitely an option, but I'll have to run it by him. He's pretty independant and may not like teh idea of "senior housing".

Only reason why I mentioned it is because it'll be alot cheaper than most apartments in the area.
