Why do you need all the pictures taken in raw format if you don't mind me asking? Do you plan on adjusting the white balance and color every picture? If not, I don't really see any other benefit for it.

The Canon EOS 1D MKIII will pop off 10 frames per second, but I don't know how fast it can do it in raw format.

The Nikon D3 would be a close competitor. Either way you're spending some big dollars.

your best bet would probably be that new canon 1d mkIII, 10fps with 30 continuous raw files.

if that isn't fast enough or enough frames and money is no issue, then i would suggest going back to film. get a nikon F3 high speed (13.5fps), but then you will be limited to only 36 exposures since that's the most in a roll of film. and you'll need to scan the negative. if 36 exposures isn't enough, there's another option but it's still film as well. nikon F2 high speed (10fps) with a 750 exposure back. that way you can shoot 10fps for 750 frames.

What is it that you'll be taking pictures that you'll need the speed for?

I don't think he's at liberty to tell us. He can only provide name, rank, and serial number. Top secret camera stuff, you wouldn't understand.

I think a lot of it has to do with the burst of your CF card. They have released the SanDisk Extreme IV. As for which camera *shrug*

raw, continuous capture is going to be difficult since cameras have a buffer that will only allow for about 10-15 fps before the next frames are shot. these are 10-12 mb files each and that's a ton of info to move and store. as was mentioned above the canon 1D mkIII, mkIIn, 1Ds mkIII or nikon D2xs will be your best bet. you could tether it to a computer if it's a studio situation or just get a ton of CF cards. the canon's have two card slots one cf and one sd. you can set it up to fill one up and then move to the next. fast cards are super important too. the sandisk extreme IV is the way to go. they make a 16 GB card, which will obviously hold a ton of images. email me if you have other questions.

my XTi will popoff about 2-3 per second in raw, but after about 15 shots, it'll pause to write them to memory...

Very helpful, yea i understand how the buffer works etc.. im trying to test the best one.......Card I agree is definitely important, and as far as the 16gb I dunno. I have 1, but my first 8gb was a total pos and can't write fast enough. It writes below its spec, thanks patriot!
