bump!!!!!!!!
anyone else able to offer a helping hand? already got a couple offers from some cool guys but still keeping all options open just incase.
and just for a summary since it seems like a few of you misunderstood.........
need help with the installation of Timing belt kit w/ water pump & timing guide, radiator/ancillary hoses, both drive belts and radiator + coolant.
I would like someone to come over and guide/help me install all of this so next time i perform the work im not such a newb at it.
(12 pack compliments of me!!!)
ive done minor work myself like oil changes, brake jobs minus fluid (fluid newb), fuel pump replacement, 21quart ATF drain and fill (6.8L v10) lol.
let me know if this is something you could help do over one of these weekends.
I am able to offer either parts or money (about $250 value) and food plus beer!
no rush as all my OEM stuff is still running strong @ 90k. just want to get in there to do some preventative maintenance before stage 3.

Then bought a gates waterpump.
After that i needed pullys and a tensioner but the only awesome deal i could find was a timing components kit for $110 shipped which had everything minus waterpump.
Sold the 1st gates oem belt for $5 more dollars than i bought it for to cover shipping
Bought a gates racing blue timing belt instead for $80 shipped, and an oem subaru water pump for $75 shipped. As i decided i am going to move forward with turbo upgrade in the future.
So now, i essentially have a timing belt kit with: oem thermostat, oem gaskets, oem waterpump, gates racing belt and tensioner + pullys, for cheaper than a full gates timing kit with regular belt & waterpump costs.
Now just need to sell the extra timing belt and water pump with gaskets......
Also buy a new radiator.
Still debating on a manual radiator + trans cooler or just drop a koyo in for cheap and get another 100k out of it....

Thread reopened. Anyone want to come help me adjust my wastegate actuator?
I know its straightforward but I dont trust myself since im half stupid.
I just flashed to cobb stage 2 and when I get over 3k rpms and into boost it fluctuates a lot with constant throttle like its hunting.
Drive to santa cruz or foster city and ill buy you a beer. And if your close enough ill come to you and still buy you a beer!

it's pretty easy.... i had the same issue. u just need a 10mm wrench. so just lengthen it and see the results. i did it in half turns until the spiking stopped. u will notice a nasty sound however, because when i lengthened my actuator arm, it started to sound like a major exhaust leak..... but spiking stopped and boosting normal at stage 2. the hardest part is removing the heat shield.

Oh man I did my downpipe myself last week....thought the heatshield was the worst part until I got to the downpipe bolts and then when all 5 were off I still had 4 more to remove.....crazy.
Worst part was the frozen bolt on the far drivers side.......pb blaster didnt even have enough *** to break it loose.
When I reinstalled a new helix bellmouth the heatshield wouldnt fit so I trimmed it and was only left with the 4 easiest bolts on the heatshield holding it back on!
Thats why I also want someone to help me lol. If no one would have told me about the sound that comes with it I would have heard that then took it right to a shop lol.
