Need Gilroy Garlic festival tips
OK, I know it sucks but some friends who have never been really wants to go.
Yes, I know it's hotter than heck
Yes, I know it's also going to be super crowded
Yes, I know traffic sux
Yes, I know we should get there early.
But I also know some of you guys are regulars and may have some insider tips to minimize the suxors.
It'll have to be this saturday and we're traveling from San MAteo Co...how bad will it be?

Bad. If you can, here is the best solution:
The few years that we went, we had friends or friends of friends of friends that would let us park at their house that was relatively close. That way you don't have to deal with parking. All the traffic is trying to get in and out of the parking lots.
That probably doesn't help...

last time i was there they had some pretty exotic stuff like warthog and croc.... smothered in garlic of course. And you pretty much nailed the bad parts already... the heat, the traffic, etc... just go and have fun. (you better LOVE garlic, you'll be up to your neck in it)
I've been going for the past 2-3 years and it hasn't been that bad as long as u get down there a litte earlier, like by 11am, and I drive down from oakland. There is traffic control and u do have to sit in a little bumper to bumper, but I don't think it's that bad.
Remember to freeze a couple of waters/person so you don't spend all your cash on drinks all day cuz it will be toasty.

I'd go, but I'm not going to like the heat. Haha. Try some garlic ice cream! I heard from other people that it's "interesting".
