Opinions on the following...

http://www.riflegear.com/p-784-danie...ete-upper.aspx

http://www.riflegear.com/p-45-stag-a...ete-upper.aspx

I know I can change the bits I don't like later down the line, but this is a hard choice.

Either one of these are a solid bet, though I would lean more towards the BCM.

I have a question... let's just say I buy that Stag Arms upper... I can pretty much change anything I want later, right? I mean... I can change to flip up sights and such or am I stuck with the iron front sight?

Answers needed...

Thanks.

You can, but it may be a pain in the *** depending on how mechanically inclined you are.

I put my lower together myself. I'm a former mechanic. How hard can it really be? If it's that bad I can take it to a shop. I'm not worried about that part. I just want to be sure I can do other stuff if I want to later. Even just changing out the hand guard.

One other question... where is a good place to pick up 5.56/.223 that isn't going to cost as much as the damn rifle? I usually buy handgun ammo, never shopped for rifle.

I'm guessing Wolf rifle is just as bad as their other junk...

Mind if I hijack your thread?

How did you guys get into shooting? I've never shot a firearm in my life, but feel like it might be a useful skill. Did you grow up shooting, or learn in the military/law enforcement? Teach yourself?

I've always had guns around. When I was old enough I bought a shotgun and pistol and have been into it ever since. If you want to try it to see if you like it head over to the range with a buddy and rent some guns. Take an experienced shooter with you and put some rounds down-range. Be warned, though as it turns into an addiction.

if you shop around you can find them for around 300 shipped! i got my PMC xtac 556 green tip for that price when there was a sale few weeks ago. they regularly have sale on ammo so unless you need some right away i'll wait for a deal.
