I'll tell you what, take the battery that's in my RS for a set of short J hooks. I need some short J hooks from autozone so I can install my Odyssey. That'll be like a $10 for you. That one I have is less than two years old, slightly smaller than OE, and has enough cranking amps to turn over in frozen hell.

So, take my cheap offer, or go buy a $60 or $70 battery. Cause that's all you will need dude. All Batteries have a life, and most WILL go 5-8 years, sometimes longer. That's why they have such long warranties like 4-7 years.

I appreciate that GREATLY but I need one right now and can't get to Fremont since I'm in SJ and need a car by tonight... Now that I know that I can get 35% off at OSH for a battery, it looks like I'll be doing that... Just get a cheap one like you said and be done with it, especially with the discount! w000t!!! You guys are the best!!!

Bah, just called my wife and OSH DOES NOT sell car batteries, so you must have OSH mistaken with someone else.

Sounds like SEARS might be your best bet. I have had great luck with Die Hard batteries, and once was in a bind similar to you near Wolfe/Steven's Creek and SEARS over there sorted me out and had me on the road pretty quickly.

Not sure where you're at in the Bay Area, but I bought my last red top at the Interstate Batteries distributor in Burlingame. I needed a special one for my GTO (which they had on the shelf) and negotiated the price down by saying "I would've bought it at Costco cheaper, but they were out of the one with the terminals on the right side"

Also, does sears accept core trade ins or do they just sell the battery to you without a core?
it's not really a discount. Rather, when u buy a new battery, they'll charge u a $9 fee for your old battery. If u bring it in during time of purchase, they'll waive that fee. If u bring it in on another day, they'll just give u back the $9

optimas are not the same optima quality from say 10 years ago.

i had one in my truck. after like 6 months, it would charge with a charger i bought and would start ONCE. but that was it.

i had it.

then i learned that sears was selling rebranded odyssey batteries. plus sears warranties it and there are sears everywhere!

for my 04 STi, when the OEM batt finally died like a year or so ago, i went to autozone and picked up their 2nd best type batt for like $80. again, there are autozones everywhere and they keep the warranty internally in their database!

I put a yellowtop in my 07 STi and it starts up much faster and my lights/gauges/headlights do not dim with the bass. Remains to be seen how long it will last though.

For the time being it is awesome, just get the "R" or reversed posts.

Sorry. Nope I'm not mistaken it was in fact OSH ... HOWEVER ... They stopped carrying the Die Hard brand batteries last year. Apparently the cost of battery disposal got too high and the decided it was no longer worth it to carry car batteries.

I ended up going to Costco after all, brought in my old battery, got $9 for it (rather, they didn't charge me the extra $9 for battery disposal on top of the battery cost) and got a "#3 battery" for my 2007 STi for $59.99 Minus $9, so $51.99 for basically the same thing as a die hard battery. Installed it and it works great. Yay for Costco!

PS: Speaking of Costco, I have to go there on saturday and buy all the perishable items for BAM, anyone interested in going? I need cars that can store food until it can be delivered to my house... We'll probably have about 10 cars worth of food/drinks/supplies, or about $4,500 worth of goods... The soda/water takes the most space. Anyone feel like making a MEGA costco run with me and my wife? lol We can't haul all the stuff by ourselves, but it looks like we might have access to a box van so it might be ok.

PS: That's around 800LBS of FOOD (From meat, to bread, to desserts, and everything in between), as well as almost 2,000 Soda cans and bottles of water! Anyone who wants to do a massive recycling thing and take all the disposed cans and bottles is more than welcome to, first come first served, Im sure you can make like $100 on that many cans and bottles. lol

I'm towing the car, so about 80% of my truck bed will be open. I'll be washing and prepping the car Saturday afternoon. Hit me up Saturday evening, or whenever you plan to go. We can store probably most of the drinks, non perishables. I won't be able to take any perishables, don't have space in my fridge.

I plan to leave like around 8am Sunday, but that's cause I might be going to look at an OBS in El Cerrito on the way to BAM, but I should be in Novato around 10-10:30am.

Or did it just die a natural death after 3 years?
I had an amp powering the fronts, and an amp for the 10" sub. Nothing really that heavy. I think the quality just went downhill. Oh well, lesson learned.
