need computer help

does anyone know if its possible to take your wallpaper and resave it as a a file, or is it already somewhere saved in a different directory?

the reason why i ask is because i have a picture as my desktop and the original file got deleted and i want it back.

the wallpaper is a file in the windows\directory.

go into the DISPLAY control panel -> Desktop tab.

see what is selected. if you right-clicked on a pix while browsing the web, that would named (for me i use mozilla) Mozilla Wallpaper.

now if it were a file that you got somewhere else. then went into the Desktop tap and BROWSED for it. then selected it. and then you deleted the file, no, you cannot get it back, unless you check your Recycle Bin.

if you still have the desktop going, you can do a screen cap and then see if you can do anything with that. all desktop wallpapers are best saved as BMP, althought some jpgs do look fine...

yeah, it's usually a bitmap file and if you use windows it's probably called "internet explorer wallpaper" that is, if you saw it within your browser, right clicked and clicked on 'set as background".
