Need Advice: Win Installer Dmg Car : UPDATE POST #34
UPDATE POST #34
I went to a company that was highly recomended by other i-club member; however, the person that was working on my car, damaged my car by putting 4 dents on the top of the roof from leaning on it to hard. In addition, they caused 2 chip marks on my car. I'm absolutely sure they caused this damage, because I washed the car the day before and I'm very **** with my car and I know where all my flaws on the car are.
I'm pretty sure the dent can not be pulled from where the location the dents are. Even though I spent roughly $250 for them to work on my car, is the company that worked on my car supposed to fully take care of the responsibility to fix it in the condition the way it is before? I'm pretty sure its going to cost $1k+ to fix it because in order to get the dents out it has to be drilled then bonded/welded then painted. I know it's small dents but its very noticable and I shouldn't have the damage in the first place. Companies should have insurance to cover this type of stuff, am I right? What would you guys do?
thanks

that really blows
mostly because there's no real way to prove they did it. unless of course someone took note of every single dent in the entire car before the person started working. or maybe perhaps a note int he paper work saying "EVERY dent will be fixed"
other than that, i think you're ****ed

where did this happen?
We can't help you unless we know what the hell was getting done on the car... Honestly, I can't image anyone doing any kind of work on a car that would end up putting dents in those spots. That's more like parking under some really tall tree that dropped something on the roof from 4-5 stories up. those look like small dents.

I got a windshield installed on my car. I saw the guy leaning on the roof when installing, but thought nothing of it. I didn't park under anything at all that whole day and after the window was installed went home and was parked in a garage for a few days.

Unfortunately our hood, fenders, and roof are so easy to dent! Take it to stupiddent, I am sure if the headliner is off (or he can get under it) he can get to those. No need to have it drilled and filled imo. That sucks they did that. I had a tow truck driver lean on my fender and put two nasty dents on the passenger fender one creased. I was SOL unless I wanted to report it to my insurance and pay a deductable. I was able to get them fixed at the Hammy meet for $100 (plus one more on the drivers side rear door).

Have you contacted them to tell them about it?
I'd say it's there fault.
All you can do is tell them. They'll no doubt tell you that it's not their fault. Unless they took record of the condition of the car before they took it neither of you can really proove anything.
If they try to get out of it you can then file with small claims court. Even this is going to be iffy because....like I said..neither of you has real proof.
Last is you can contact your insurance company and have them go after them. You'll have to pay your deductible but if they win the case you'll get it back.
First off I'd contact Justin the dent guy and see if he can fix them. I've got a few I need fixed as well. Justin is the best I've ever seen. You might get lucky.
I have one on my tail gate that I'm not sure can be fixed.
Unfortunately stuff like this happens in shops of all kinds ALL the time. I know a guy that had his car worked on....very **** guy when it comes to car condition...Got it back and had TONS of tents of misc sizes on the car. They had his car for some time. He told them and they said...oh it was like that... he couldn't really do anything. Even though the car was perfect when he gave it to them.....seriously perfect.

I just had my car washed...stepped in dog poo and didn't have time to deal with it so I had them do it while I was on my lunch break. I have a new dent on my fender...yeah.

Update: Just recieved some pictures my friend had taken that day during the process. As you can see no dents before window was taken off, and you can clearly see the dents after the window has been replaced. Is that enough proof now?? Click on larger size to see it more clearly

You are lucky that you have the pics! I say get couple repair estimate from bodyshops (they charge more), print the pics out, bring them in, and ask for repair money. Or you can call your insurance agent and send him/her the pics and estimates as well. It looks like something PDR can fix (cheaper), no need for bondo and repaint. Good luck!

hey Leo, can you reach that with the headliner off? i remember seeing a LOT of exposed metal after we removed the headliner on the wag at Kevin's install fest....
Walter,
I don't remember how it looks like after the liner was off, I was talking to AR.
But even if there are bracings, I have special tools to work under the bracings. Actually having bracing would be eaiser in this case. If not, I would have to find a leverage point, and would be hard when the dents are so far from the door.
