It won't do you any good with a carb legal intake. You need stock pieces for the ref. even with the carb legal intake the bigger question will be where's the carb legal paperwork for the shining chrome piping you have to the aftermarket front mount inter cooler. Our best and cheapest bet is to change the intake pieces back to stock with the tmic and stock air box.

Damn that's gonna be such a B. Yeah it's gonna be tough trying to get through the state ref. You could play the card that you were only cited for the intake and anything else is irrelevant.....don't know if that will work though.

I was under the impression that intercooler upgrades/piping was all legit if the car came factory turbo/intercooled.
After some quick research, after dec. 2011, if it ain't got a EO/Carb number for it, it AIN'T legal. You sir, are going to have to slap on a TMIC! Either run the stock airbox or find an SPT, HKS, INJEN, AdvanceFlow Engineer, AEM or K&N and make sure it has the EO Sticker included.

Either get the SPT or Cobb and or Injen. I believe all 3 of these are carb legal, not sure if the K&N ones are too. Is that pod intake an APS one you currently have on the car?

The AEM intakes have CARB#'s. It looks like the Cold Air (long ram) should fit.

yes the current intake is a APS short ram intake. My problem is the fmic piping runs thru the hole where most of the long and short ram inatkes go. It seems the smog ref will ding me for my fmic so Im looking for a stock sti tmic =( This sucks because my current setup will pass smog but since the parts are'nt smog legal they will fail it.

The TXS FMIC (and knock offs like the one in the pic above that are based on it) cannot run a CAI without custom IC piping.

That being said, your FMIC is illegal and any intake you get will require your car to be retuned.

I'm betting if he painted the intercooler tubing a flat-black or intake manifold black, he could pass it off as stock

I'm curious, could you get a stock airbox and leave off all of the fender snorkel stuff?
Would it fit?

Just pay the fine and save yourself the head ache. The ref will not pass you unless everything is 100% stock.

ya the ref wont pass you with that fmic, and if you are on a stock turbo why the hell are you on a fmic? the stock tmic is fine with that small stock turbo.
