My Xbox is......DEAD

So im just minutes away from finishing Ghst Recon and then POP and the screen goes blank. I turn it back on and i get the RED CIRCLE OF DEATH. Im gonna talk to the people at the eb games around the corner from my job and hopefully they can help. Its a 360 that i bought the first day they came out.

That sucks bro. Although, you've had a first gen 360 from the day it came out and it worked up until now? Consider yourself lucky.

go to www.xbox-scene.com and read up on the red circle issue for the 360. From what I can remember it may be a power issue within the power supply itself. If you still have your reciept info or something proving you purchased it from a retailer you can have MS warranty it.

My friend's 360 wouldn't turn on anymore. He sent it back to Microsoft and they sent him back a brand new unit. I think he's had that 360 for close to 2 years and they still replaced it.

<goes back to playing Nintendo>

send it in...they'll replace it or cut you a deal on a new one. they don't make money on the unit itself anyways. It's all about games.

Microsoft is very good with the xbox system and the support they provide. I've had several troubleshooting questions and they have been very helpful and punctual with their responses. Of course, you could always argue that they should've worked harder on making a better and more reliable system than spending so much effort on customer support...it's all good though.

Their customer service is crap. My disk drive broke. I called up the support center and the guy is all nice until we find out that my 90day warrenty is 3 days over. After explaining they wanted to charge me $129, the guy tells me I could look for replacement parts onlne.

I order what I think is the right part, go to install and cant get the dam thing to work. Two weeks later I get a letter in the mail telling me that my warrenty was extended... but i have already opened the system up, so now they wont cover it.

That's too bad...I had the extended warranty so I never had problems getting replacement parts or upgrades.

90 days is too short for a warranty. a warranty that short is useless. they should make a law that products have a 1 year warranty minimum.
