My Turn for a Memorial. 03/21/2009 Gone but not Forgotten.

As you know, i lost 4 brothers on 03/21/2009. Up until today, i didnt really get emotional about it, and its finally hit me.

I knew three of the 4. I even named my son after one. Im not going into any details, just thought i post a little tribute to the men that died trying to enforce the laws that keep citizens safe at night.

"People sleep peaceably at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf"

"The Final Inspection"

The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Goodbye brothers, you will be missed more than you can ever imagine. I know were suverely understaffed and hated by the entire community. But innocent people need are help, and need protection from those wishing to do evil.

My brothers this is the last time ill say it.... Goodbye.

I Didnt really know where to post this, I just woke up this morning and it hit me hard. Plus with all the cop haters in here, I thought id add this in kinda as a reality check.f

When i put on my uniform every night, I have to worry about coming home. Trust me, im not sweatin somebody with a little weed or running a red light. But at the end of the day... its my job to enforce the law, weather or not you like it. if you dont like the law that you broke, Take it to the state and get it changed.... plain and simple.

As for Lovell Mixon... ROT IN HELL YOU PIECE OF ****.

I have nothing but respect Flatline, it is always a sad day when we must mourn those who we know, especially when it is your brothers in service. I hope the best for the families of the slain officers, but I hold solace with the fact that they are resting in peace, and are in a better place.

Damn those who take the lives of the undeserving, especially those who take the lives of public servants.

That is tough man, seeing a post like this makes me miss my friends and family that have perished. It is weird how you can go for days, weeks or months sometimes before a tragic loss actually starts to hit you. RIP to the Officers and mey Hell have it's Fury on that scumbag which is not worthy to be named

Much respect. Like others have said, they died with honor and put a scumbag down during the process. Considering all the evil things it has done.. I'm sure they saved a ton of people from being victims.

**** Mixon and his whole POS family They should all go to jail just because they are related to him! Ok, not really.. But I hope that family is at least getting heat for this.

That f'ing bastard. F' him and all of his followers, I hope they all rot in hell. Too bad he's dead and not on death row where he'll rot away day by day.

Prisons here in California aren't like the gulags of old..they don't really "rot away" anymore.

If the kid was in general population he'd get recruited by the black caucus & heralded amongst them as a hero for being a cop killer. The guards would hate him, but his bretheren would revere him. Whatever he didnt get from the system (3 hots & a cot, mental health services, health care, free education, free vocational training, freedom to practice a religion), he would get from his brothers (drugs, cell phones, $$, etc).

So death & rotting in perpetual perdition was a fair end for the cop killer. It wont bring the officers back unfortunately, but it keeps the taxpayers from paying tens of thousands of $$ a year keeping the guy alive until he got his place 'in front of the firing squad'.

+ a very large number....

Thoughts are with the OPD, and all those who risk themselves for those who sometimes just don't care.
