my seemingly shady encounter with san leandro pd
I find that people who have that attitude are the type that seem to have a lot of run-ins with the police. It's not that tough to avoid run-ins with them if you obey the laws.
My wife actually got pulled over Saturday night by SLPD, brand new audi with dealer plates (car is less than 1 month old), pulled her over for no plates and asked for the temp one from the windshield, when she was trying to pull it off they said never mind and just left. whole ordeal lasted around 5 minutes asking where she is coming from and going to.

I hope you know that some people on here probably have family members that are/were officers, and are totally nothing like what you consider the rest of them to be.

This may be being put out in thier briefings.

I am about as far from the criminal type as you can get, but I have seen LEO after LEO ignore their oath, and go off on a power trip. They are not to be trusted, they do not have the best interest of the American people at heart.
Not to derail this however, for every 1 LEO that obeys the laws and follows his oath, I can point to 1000 that have a chip on their shoulder and look down on everyone else. Its sad to say but now a days the bad cops outnumber the "good" ones by so much, you can no longer trust ANY of them if you mean to retain your rights.

Or maybe you just see videos online, which are only of the bad cops, and let that paint your entire opinion of them.
You never see news, or hear about, all of the good cops because good news doesn't garner interest like bad news does.
There are jerks in every job. Yes, jerks that decide to become cops suck, because they have power over civilians, and can abuse that. I understand that.
But most cops go into the job because they care about people's safety, including yours.
There are appx 800k law enforcement officials in the US. By your numbers, that means there are only about 800 good cops in the entire United States. I somehow don't believe that, because that would mean that I know about 10% of them personally.
You probably think your opinion of the police makes you seems cool. And if you feel that way, then go ahead. But don't make extremely rude generalizations about people that risk their lives to keep you safe every single day. It's very hurtful.

So I've come to the conclusion that these threads always turn into Overbear going off about:
a) How much he hates LEOs
b) How much he loves guns
c) How Rotella isn't manufacturer recommended
d) How much our rights are being infringed
Thanks bro. Duly noted!

Let me say this too, they are not wanted or needed to "keep me safe" I am perfectly capable of protecting myself and my loved ones, and do not need the LEO of any group to do such for me, just as our founding fathers stood on their own merits, I work hard to do the same.

INCORRECT Alain. I have two very close friends whom I trust wholeheartedly with my life that are LEOs and I trust them to the point that I can drop off my 5 month old son to any of them and not feel even a tad bit worried. One is in San Mateo and a member of this site, the other is SFPD.
This is not about being popular or cool, it is not about being rude or hurtful. It is about observation, study, and fact.

I'll stop arguing with a brick wall then

You clearly know better than me and must have extensive research on the topic since you said you have studied this and have facts to back it up. I'd love to see them, but I'm sure you don't have anything but a few links to sites on the internet about bad cops.
Thank you for saying that my father risked his life daily for no reason and that you are in no way thankful for anything he did. That's very mature of you.
