My Own NIGHTMARE with Gruppe-S I Urge you to read!
The last time i went to Grupee-s* and while i was waiting in the lobby i noticed there was a man sleeping there, he wasnt moving and when i went to see if he was OK i took off his subydude beanie and it looked like he had been dead for at least 2 years! I went to the sales office to see if i could get some help for the poor guy, i think a guy named Greg sneezed on me, it was very unpleasant. He said he would go look at my car right away. He came back to tell me they were very busy and i should just come back next week. I wasnt in a rush so i went to my car to leave.. the ****ing steering wheel was disconnected! how incompetent. I wasnt feeling very well after all of that and actually almost got sick on the way home. I went to the doctor the next day, and apparently the sales rep had given me SARS and i got a rash on my behind from something on my car seat. True story. **** Grupee-s.
(* i have never been to Gruppe-s or had any work done there.. as we all know everyone makes mistakes, and i for one would definitely take my car there because for every 1 bad story you hear, there are probably 100 or more very happy stories with happy suby owners you didnt hear)

does that mean that they are actually guilty of installing something incorrectly and

i say give gruppe-s a break. they made a mistake let them finish it. as soon as they refuse then ya lets hear about it. but it hardly sounds like they even had a chance to correct their wrong.
i understand brakes are a serious deal. but your alive, and like Geoff said before, humans make mistakes. i am only backing them up because thats true. i doubt gruppe-s has a hit out for you. so go about it like a man. not a child.

Hmmm... makes me wonder. My car has been making a distinctly odd noise when the turbo spools since Gruppe-S put in my uppipe/down pipe. They said the uppipe may leak since it's not a flex pipe. It seems strange to me that Perrin, Cobb and HKS would design uppipes that leak (none of them are flex pipes). But he said it should be ok. Famous last words? I'm not sure I can complain though - it seems to run ok. However, the noise is a bit unsettling - it doesn't really sound like a leak althought it definitely sounds like it's coming from the turbo. But WTF do I know - my last vehicle was a lifted Ram truck with FlowMasters.
You guys might want to check out Works over in Bayshore. Although they're primarily an Evo shop, they did some work on my car and seem pretty cool. They told me they're trying to break into the WRX/STi market. But they don't have a dyno, so their tuning capability is limited.

check the post right before yours.
Yeah, the other thing is that we don't all just sit at computers all day and surf the forums looking for posts where we're mentioned. We check the forums to see what's going on but most of the time we're doing work.
Hello,
We'd be more than happy to take a look at your car if you think that something is wrong with it. The extra noise could just be caused by aftermarket uppipe and downpipe; since they have no shielding on them, they transmit sound more easily through them. HKS, Cobb, and Perrin don't make parts that don't fit but it is a known fact that flex uppipes offer better fitment than non-flex ones. Please contact us if you'd like us to look at your car.
Thanks,
Geof
