My friend is selling his 2006 WRX Wagon
He's asked for my help in doing so. Problem is that I'm out of the loop on what the value of this one would be.
It has 113K miles, all services performed. It's a 4EAT Limited.
The front bumper/lip is banged up a bit from curbs and whatnot. There are a few dings on it and some minor scratches. The rear bumper has been nicked/scratched up from city living.
A few years ago he had an issue with the motor (I think it's common for this year?). So he had Kevin at Auto HQ go through it and while he was in there he made several upgrades. I'll get a list of those and post them up.
I drove it yesterday and it pulled really well. Everything works as it should and man, it made me miss having one...
So, I'm curious where I should start the asking price for him? I've looked on CL and they are all over the place. BTW- there is a sweet white one with only 60K miles on it right now...

CL is a bad judge. Start with blue book and compare that to what people are asking right now. Even in very good condition they aren't selling like hotcakes at the moment. Sold my 04 last night slightly below my asking price.

Mine took almost 3 months to sell and there are a few other clean ones on here that have been up longer than that. So if he's looking for a quick sale, price will end up being lower than what its worth. If he can hold out for the price, then he can probably get close to KBB. Mine went for right around KBB, which is technically less than it was worth with what I had done to it, but doesn't really matter what's done to it if it doesn't sell.

From my experience the 4eat lowers the market value significantly. My lady bought her 04 wagon with 83k , sedan front end, and plenty of other mods for 10k .....because automatic.
The same car with the 5mt would go for 15 or so.
