Where is this Oil coming from?..

Where is this Oil coming from?..

I have a 05 STI, in the back seat carpet(right side) is there some kind of oil line running under the carpet?...The reason, I left my jacket on the carpet floor and now it has some oil substance on. No I didnt leave oil and it opened...

this is getting weird...ideas?

Oil fairy? I'd get under the car and see if anything is leaking onto the chassis and somehow getting inside and check under the rear seat as mentioned.

There isn't anything back there that would leak oil into the back seat/carpet area.

What I was saying though, it could leak onto the chassis and be blown back as you drive, but to get in the rear area, I'd say that's a pretty long shot.

unbolt the seats, center console, and take out the carpet and see where its coming from. there shouldn't be any lines, it would be gas leaking from the tank.. might as well clean the carpets while you're at it.

thanks..on it tonight...removing the rear seat and checking the carpet...

i cleaned the bottomr carpet last week..thought it was something else..but i left my jacket down there for couple days this morning..had oil on it...right now i left some newspapers and cloth there so I can see if ti soaks again...

im confused as anything...

Could be the grease from the seat slider area?

What about the IC Sprayer lines and what do you use in your IC container? I use just water myself but i know some use things like De-icer and what not.

hahah...

I'll give the final answer when I get home from work and start unbolting seats, removing console..
