My digital camera broke

I'm wondering if anyone has or knows of a hookup for fixing digital cameras. I have a really nice camera that I received a few years ago and my extended warranty ended last year. So now I have to pay full price to fix it - Wolf camera, the place I bought it, wants $200 to fix it. Does anyone know of a place I can go to that will do good work and charge less?

The camera is a Canon Powershot S110 "digital elph".

The camera is "old" technology at 2.0 megapixels, and the gentleman at Wolf told me the best option would be to buy a new camera that has better technology as the price of a new camera is almost as much as the repair cost.
Does anyone have a solution? thanks!

I'd probably get a new one. They're pretty affordable nowadays. You can get a good 3MP camera for under 200 bucks.

yeah, get a new one. No use paying that much to fix it. I'm getting a new one too, even though mine is still good. ummm if it's really really bad... try taking it apart and fix it yourself. I'm sure you can do it! really! but if you can't... that's ok too, more excuse to get a new cam!

Yeah, it's not even worth fixing. Just get a new one.

what is it thats broken? if your SOL either way you might as well take it apart yourself, clean it and put it back togehter and maybe that will do it.

I concure, buy a new one. 2.0 megapixel sucks. There are a TON of new 3.0 megapixel cameras for $200 and under now.

The problem with the camera is that the plastic bit at the front of the lens pops off very easily and the zoom function will not work. I'm really bummed because this is an excellent camera and the image quality is great even though it is 2 MP. Are 200 dollar cameras reliable?

My Minolta DiMage Xt was around two-fiddy and it's great. Internal zoom lense (periscope) and the thing is tiny. Takes great vids as well with sound and all. 3.2MP and my only complaint is that low light sucks like most other digicams. I took it with me for 3 weeks in Spain earlier this year, no problems - hundreds of pics.

For 3mp under $200 i'd go with the Olympus D-540, but I am a little olympus biased, as I really like their option menu over other cameras.

I really liked the small size of my current camera, are the cameras listed above small or medium sized?

Go to a store and look around! Seriously. Then go online and buy one.

Please note my usage of the word "tiny" in this post. This thing fits in a shirtpocket and no one can tell. Like 3/4" by 2 5/8" by 3" or something. Just don't swallow it!

Seriously though, I checked it out at GoodGuys but then found it online at a price I couldn't turn down.
