Sorry to hear the bad news Kellie. Thank god the tire/rim didn't go any higher and go through the window. Glad you are okay. Cars can be replaced. People can't.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I've got a few names of body shops, so I'm going to spend the week calling around and getting estimates. Hopefully she'll be fixed soon.

hey kellie,
I wouldn't bother getting different estimates if you aren't paying for the damage. I would just go to the best shop in town, regardless of price.
I just got my car back from creative kustoms and am pretty pleased with their work. They are really cool people and it makes the experience far less nerving.

if insurance gives you any hassle, i was told by my agent, if the object that hit you was airborne, it's a claim that will not affect your rates (not considered collision or something)

I'm with mercury, so the rules maybe different

Sorry to hear about your car. I'm glad you are okay! TGIF in Fremont is supposed to be good. They are going to be fixing my hood and roof soon. I'll let you know how it goes.

Is that really necessary?

Ummm, anyway. I'm taking my car to a place called Corvette City. Christian (Audi/M3 crazy guy) referred me, they're the ones who fixed his M3. Considering the cars that were in there, I don't have any worries. The Corvette with gigantic tires and a fancy paint job, the Audi, and the Ferrari are all far more expensive than my Subie, so if the owners of those cars trust him, I trust him. Now I need to sort out the rental car situation. -sigh-
