Really sorry to see that Kellie. I am glad you're ok!
On the bright side, at least that's damage that can be fixed with no lasting effect on your car.

That reminds me of what happened to me on my way to class yesterday. I was in the farthest left lane and this truck didn't see me and he started floating into my lane. I had to down shift and honk at him. The guy proceeded to give me the finger, even though I did the right thing by speeding up (slowing down, his rear tires would have chewed up my front end). What a punk.

Dammn that sucks...at least your cool, that could have easily went thru your driver side window, and that would have really sucked. If ya need a good body shop recommendation let me know. You might be able to buff that out with a little work

I can just imagine how you feel. That's really an unfortunate event.

How is the insurance going to cover this? Are you going to have to pay the deductable? Or would the civic driver be responsible, since it was his tire?

At least the side airbag didn't go off.

ohhhh man, Kellie, I am soooooo sorry to see that....I have seen that happen before, but have never been on the recieving end of a stray wheel thankfully......but like everyone else said, atleast YOU are ok....I know its your baby....but the doctors will fix 'er up right....just DONT go to the "chop shop" your insurance company sends you to.....choose a reputable place that has a good rep.

I talked to my insurance company (Farmers) and filed a claim. They're going to try to hold the tow truck company responsible, not the Civic driver. Initially, I'll pay the deductable, then they'll go after the other guy's insurance company to reimburse me for that and all of the damage. I also have the right to choose my own body shop, so she gave me a list of a few in the area that work with Farmers and have an adjuster on site. She just said to get back to her once I choose a place, whether it's one of theirs or my own, so I'm open to any recommendations.

Sue B. took one for the team. If my side were ripped open like that, I probably wouldn't have survived...she's way more tough than I am. Poor baby.

I saw a blue STi, but that was when I was parked on the left side of the highway. The CHP officer cleared traffic so I could cross to the right side, and that's where I would have been at 12:45. What does your car look like?
