I haven't actually started to ride heavily yet, but I live in Vacaville. We have plethora of roads leading to Lake Berryessa that are great to ride on (minus the cars, sometimes rough, overall not to bad).

whats actually broken? "Kenny" at mikes bikes is a borderline genius at this stuff and might be able to save you from having to buy a new control. get another 105, who can afford be a weight weeny these days. besides, this way you only have to buy one control vs. pair

I don't exactly know whats broken. My LBS said that it was "unfixable" and since they are an older model, they cannot get a replacement shifter. I think I am going to just try and do it on my own. I'm just not to bike literate.
