There's a company developing polymer projectiles that actually have good ballistics. Will still be years before it is consumer ready though. Casings are still metal I believe.

Won't have the same ballistics as lead, but they say even with them being lighter, the performance is still good - shape has been another factor in that. Reach will be shorter though IMO. One of the most interesting things too is that they say it practically causes no wear or fouling to the barrel anymore. Will it ever make it to production? Maybe maybe not.

just catching up on this thread.
There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of how gun control really works. Expecting guns to vanish immediately after select states pass weak legislation is stupid. its going to be a slow process. Outlawing institutional racism, a no-brainer, has been an arduous process. Still lots of work to be done. Also, Equating the demand and availability of guns and drugs, also stupid. Lets discard the talking points that are found in meme from, and try to work from a place of reason. Im fine with "**** off, i like guns. I'm a responsible gun owner" argument, but can anybody here explain to me why gun control works in MANY other countries but not here? the numbers don't lie, yet there seems to be extreme variance on how these numbers are interpreted. The mental health argument is a cop. Enlighten me..what is the issue?

(1) Gun control does not work.

(2) Number do lie. That's what they are there for. It is just a matter of how the data is interpreted, skewed, simply not reported, etc. This is an old, but a very good primer on exactly that.

(3) As I already mentioned, we could clearly see how well very strict gun control worked in Paris. Yet that did not stop criminals from mowing down 90 people in a theater with AKs (those types of long rifles are banned in France).

(4) I do not know how much covered this received in popular news outlets (I do not own a TV)...but unfortunately this went along with my point regarding people using anything and everything as weapons if they want to do harm. Especially 3,000+ lbs surface-to-surface missiles/bombs you can buy at every corner of this country (aka car).

This driver INTENTIONALLY killed and injured at least 36 people by driving his vehicle into them. Where is the talk regarding banning those types of "assault weapon"? Or putting additional safety features into them? Or passing stricter background checks? Or outright banning "assault vehicles"?
