haha, damn please tell me you have the intention of transfering to some private school after you do 2 years @ DVC, the more expensive the better. Don't worry if you can't get into an Ivy league or whatnot. When you go to a private school, education isn't most of what you're paying for anways.

I say this because you are luckier than you know. (or maybe you do know) I know I'm gonna get heat for saying this, but milk your parents while you can. Seriously. MILK YOUR PARENTS. Well ok if you're parents are poor don't milk them. But I mean come on if Dad likes to buy corvettes on the weekends and crash them into firehydrants for fun, why not?

MSJ, Pally, Gunn, parents move out of million dollar mansions into rickity 50 year old creaking floorboard houses to send their kids to a good school. Can you say dedication as a parent?

Damn, I'm must have done things all wrong then. My parents have money, but when I graduated they packed up and moved down to La Jolla! Left my a$$ here to fend for myself. Now I'm stuck here living in Antioch! What up with that?!

yea you were right in saying you will probably get flamed for saying all that. You don't know anything about me or my family. Yes i am VERY lucky that my parents purchased my car for me. But to say i milk them for everything, sry but your wrong there. Before getting my car my parents never bought me fancy things or other stuff that my friends were getting (computer, tv, paintball gun, etc....) I've worked every summer since 9th grade and for the past year ive been working 4 days a week at Spring Valley golf course. I've paid for everything on my car and installed everything on my car. Also i'm not running my car into firehydrants.... i am yet to be in any accidents with this car our my dad's old accord that i previously drove until it broke down. Oh and i also dont have any tickets. So verc you can eat a dick. k thnx.

<begin rant> ok, My turn, I graduated from MSJ in 1995, Yea, my parents have money...but I was driving a 1989 Ford Aerostar to school....and I had to work every summer since about..........isht........well, I'd say since about 8th grade. When I graduated HS, my parents bought me a 2 dr Chevy Tahoe....brand new (some of you have seen it)....but guess what.....the 25k+ that I had invested in it (11.5" of lift, 4.56 gears f/r, 2 sets of rims, 36" swampers, 35" BFGs, full exhaust from the block back, Jet Chipped, Dana 60 w/ARB rear, just to list a few mods...) were ALL paid for/installed by yours truly...yep....my parents made me bust my *** for what I have....granted they helped me out in specific areas.....but by no means was I spoiled, ok well, maybe only slightly spoiled, BUT, I know the value of a dollar, more importantly, I know the value of LOTS OF DOLLARS! And I take care of what I do have so it will last as long as possible, in the best possible condition. </end rant>

when was this carshow anyways? I wanna show off my car to some HS kids.... LOL. Man I wish we had stuff like that when I was in HS, that would'da been awesome. <shrug>

man, stop being insecure about it. Stop with this "YEAH I GOTTA PROVE THAT WAS SOOO POOR IN HIGH SCHOOL MY PARENTS MADE ME EAT CRAP FOR DINNER AND I HAD TO WORK 20 HOURS A DAY" game. Parents' job is to raise a good kid. If they earn 100 grand a year and their kids drop out of high school, they FAILED. Most everyone on this board is cool with people in high school being well off. Don't get all defensive on me.

Reading your word choice, it's obvious I hit a nerve there. You are actually so defensive about being young and having this car that even though I posted supporting you, you lashed out against me. What is wrong with you man? Give me a call (925)-548-4331 if you want to work it out. You too, Ted, you just HAD to bust out the <rant> to prove yourself "manly" enough to earn your own money.

Why do people take so much pride in making money at such a YOUNG AGE? Show me a guy who worked at the local pizza hut saving up to buy his LS1 senior year of high school (one of my buddies) and I'll show you a guy who 10 years down the line is wishing he studied in school instead. you are not supposed to be making money, you are SUPPOSED to be going to school and studying, your parents are SUPPOSED to be buying you necessities are they are failures as parents. And if you are working hard to make lots of money in high school, good for you, I worked my *** off in the movie theater friday and saturday night and working the 4am shift at UPS in high school too, I didn't criticize anything you said, why are you?

Now granted some of you might have been poor growing up. I'm sorry, I really am. Being poor sucks. But obviously, TK5dan is not going to pull that exuse on me. I was merely telling you to live your life to the fullest with LONG TERM GOALS in sight. You probably are already, it's not like I said you weren't, I simply read your comment about going to community college and wanted to politely remind you to take advantage of your parents' financial situation to optimize your future prospects, which I am 100% sure your parents would agree with me, that although obviously they would not be willing to shed a dime for you to mod your car, they would be willing to sacrifice anything they had to see you, and their other sons and daughters, succeed.

Now I challenge people to flame me. If you flame me I will respond with
"I'm very sorry you were not fortunate growing up. My condolences."

I wish my parents bought me a nice car in high school, and I'm sure you do to. What kind of bullcrap do you think you are pulling by acting all noble because you were not as priviliged as say Dan, and several other members of this board are? No one would say "naw, I will nobly refuse everything I am given because I am a REAL man and I will go work at McDonalds so I can buy my Datsun pickup, my first car, yeah! And all my friends will go party and pimp girls with those bimmers their parents bought them but I wanna be a REAL man! Screw that fake shiznit I'm keepin' it real!"

LOL

ok first off Verc.....I NEVER once said anything relating to what you had said....I never mentioned you, I never complained once......so there is NO REASON for you to get all butt hurt about someone saying that they had to work for the **** they had. My point was simply to show: A. that NOT EVERYONE THAT GOES TO MSJ is handed an M3 or some other sick *** car because their parents can afford it. and B. to show that just because your parents are rich, doesnt mean you get to slack off unless your parents promote that kind of behavior. Also, I dont have to prove **** to anyone, I am 27 and am well established in my career and am living the kind of life I want to live, so .....and I dont say what I say, because I am hoping for a response from anyone, esp. a smart *** response from someone that says to "MILK YOUR PARENTS." I could care less what anyone thinks about me....if you like me great, we can be friends...if you dont....fine, then leave me alone. The whole <rant> thing.....well, if that puts your panties in a bunch...then boohoo for you....but life doesn't get any easier, so get used to it.

ok, I'm done.

tk5dan , how is that course> i've been meaning to play there. I usually play in santa cruz when I play 18. You play? I wish I could play more.

As for all the comments and what not. It's only natural to give someone some crap when they are given things like fat cars and showered with toys. (I am not saying that is the situation here) but what I am saying is that it's a normal reaction. You can't take it to personally.

Truth of the matter is...there are a lot of kids that get showered like that and never learn the value of a dollar. The value of education. Earning something. Those people make it a little harsher for those that might get some of those benefits but do learn those values.

Basically with that money you get oportunities that others don't. Some people get a little jealous.

Long as you don't get rapped up in the he got I got they don't got bull crap then I don't care what you have. Long as you realize it's material and it doesn't mean a damn thing. Only time I get pissed is when I come across people that think they are better than someone else cause of what they drive or wear. People that have and won't share. Etc.

GotBoost?...I think you're a lazy greedy bastard and your parents must have been great people to suffer through your behavior. Mommy this. Daddy that. Give me this. I think you should take that money and smoke it.

Kidding of course. haaaaaaaa. Just fuxing with you man.

Everyone chill out. It was just some high school kids showing off their toys. What do you think we do every freaking tuesday..lol.

i think its a really nice course for being public. They keep everything in good condition unlike sunol. I've been playing golf for awhile now but started playing seriously sophmore year. Decided to not play baseball for the school and moved over to golf (both are same season sports)

Verc - sry if you weren't flaming me but this type of stuff gets pretty old. It seems that whenever i post a picture of my car or talk about going driving someone always has to comment about me being in highschool and being spoiled for having this car. Or saying i am an inexpierenced driver and am going to crash whenever i take my car out. Truth of the matter is i really dont care what anyone thinks but when each thread turns into something else its annoying.
