at least the STi can beat Civic Si's and that new Saturn Ion RED LINE... **** wait a minute, the Civic has better fuel economy. scratch that.

alls i know is, my Sti's going in for Ohlins coilovers at Vishnu in the coming weeks and they claim it will make the car handle basically equally vs. Evo's on the same setup. and i honestly prefer the sound of the Subaru EJ25T motor over the 4G63... and with Stage 2 turbo, the Sti's a legitimate 500HP car on race gas. i mean i'm sure the stock internals (fully closed deck) evo motor can handle whatever 50 psi of boost lol... but not everybody needs a 700HP motor in their daily....... let alone people being able to handle a 300HP sti from the factory.
it takes a LOT of skill to out drive even a STOCK evo or STi on the track. and no one can get NEAR out driving them on the street in their dreams... these cars are faster than most of us can every imagine and numbers don't dictate the better car... they're street cars... the overall impression you get from them is what counts... and i dont like the seating position, dash of the evo, and the small fuel tank... and when I bought my STi only Subaru had the 6spd gearbox. fast forward 3 months, i have 8k on my STi. so what if the Evo's better you eventually have to decide on one or the other... I made my decision... and I obviously love the car... saying the two aren't competitors is ridiculous.
