From the mouth of a muscle car guy

When I was a little highschool punk my cousin already had his license. We grew up in NYC and the muscle car scene was still huge. He still has his '73 Dodge Demon. It currently does 13.0@ around 105 I think. He came to visit me for a couple of days last week and of course we talked a lot about cars. Here's some of the gems that came outta his mouth:

"For another $3000 you could be doing mid 12s? For another $3000 I'd be doing 11.0"

"You put in a bigger bar? ****, I threw my rear sway bar out. Who needs another 15 pounds of crap?"

"Import guys make fun of us?"

Just thought you'd like a good chucke

A swaybar weighs all or about 5 lbs.!

Here are some of the things that you should have told him!

"You mean 12 seconds, right? Wow, I thought that a car with such a big motor would surely run a quicker 1/4 than that."

"How are your drum brakes?"

"How much did you say she displaces again?"

And when he is pulling out of your driveway, blow a whistle, and say this.: "UDERWAY, SHIFT COLORS!"

Er uh... I wasn't actually making fun of him. I just thought it was funny

He's very knowledgeable about cars, actually. He just knows what he's got and what its used for. He's just not up on the import scene and isn't into much more than drag racing.

Whatever you want to actually make fun at, for a lot less money than any of us have paid he's doing 13 flat. And for pittence he'd be in the 11s.

But even so, HE STILL HAS A STUPID MUSCLE CAR!

Nah, I really have a deep admiration for muscle cars. Especially the 70' Chevell SS with the LS6 454. That is my favorite. A 68' Firebird with the Ram Air 400 is **** too.

Can't forget about the 67' Impala SS with the 396 (Or was it a 427?)

The Mopars were sick too. "Just the good ol' boys!" That was a 68' wasn't it?

"Those were the days when the chrome was thick, and the women were straight!" -Michael Savage

They truly were the days when Detroit muscle was dominant. This powerful nation made powerful cars. Well, there is still the Viper, and that AWESOME R/T 10 Dodge truck!

yeah... always a place in my heart...

My first car was a 1978 subaru DL with 240k on it... quickly led to my second car... a cherry 1974 Trans Am 455 super duty with almost 400hp. The guy before raced it so it had a roll bar and nitrous (I never got to use it)! 16 years old and what does my dad say??? Your not allowed to drive in the rain...

My sis still has a killer 68 GTO though... nice ride.

The dukes drove a 69 charger... not too many around anymore cause they averaged 4 to 7 cars per episode!!!
