Dodge Ridge, Donner Ski Ranch, Sugar Bowl, Alpine Meadows & Squaw Valley all begin weekend only ops this Sat, Oct. 30th!
Kirkwood started weekend ops last saturday!
Boreal has been opened for daily operations for a week now!

I'm blowing off all prior commitments in order to get my Sugarbowl season pass sorted out and to go riding on Sat./Sun. I'm amped for an early season. I don't give a crap if there's only one run open. It's not even Halloween yet

2 weekends ago when i caught wind that boreal & kirkwood would be opening up, i figured my first time up to be on sat, nov. 13th. but after checking the reports on base depths & more resorts opening plus the fact that were getting a steady helping of precip, then a few days of fair weather in btwn....looks like i may move ahead of schedule. i already have plans this weekend, any days i have free after next wed the 3rd-- I'M DOWN TO GET MY SHRED ON! (even if it's a limited number o' chairs going)

Opening this weekend!!!
We've received 18-24" on top of the three foot base we already had, so come on up and ride in your Halloween costume and kick off the start of another great seasons. We're opening the Mt. Judah Portal this weekend with four lifts and top to bottom skiing and snowboarding!!! We will operate Jerome Hill, Christmas Tree, Mt. Lincoln Express, and *** Hill!!!!
The resort will be in weekend operation only until Mid-November when we will begin full time operations.

i will be hitting kirkwood.
i would go up tomorrow, but only boreal is open on weekdays.

so saturday it is, be fun to meet up with some other i-clubbers on the hills, or the road.

 

I want to go but the snow pact is only like 4 ft. I really don't want to destroy the base of my board. oh but what the hell, I'm thinking about going up sometime next week. Anyone?

 

yeah...i usually wait till they get a few good dumps up there. so far they've gotten two w/ another chance on election day. i wanna hit the slopes next thurs or fri (it would have to be boreal since they're in DAILY ops already), but if we do sat or sun, we have way more options!

btw, p-chels, howz the job huntin' going?

 

i need to write a resume. I'm thinking I should just hold out until right about when the season is ending to find a job so I can get free lift tickets. I have next friday off. Im down to go where ever.

 

if you're a real shredhead like me, you'll wait till the season is over!!! glad you said it 1st b/c i was thinking it the whole time. during that epic '98-'99 el nino season, i picked up a 2nd job @a local shop to get my lift ticket hook-up! wow...i miss those shop employee discounts!

i won't know what days i have off till tomorrow, i'll keep ya posted. anyone else wanna get their shred on, too?

btw, i'm in san jose...but have family in benicia i could crash @the nite before. iirc, you're in the concord/pleasant hill area, right?
