it'll pick it up, but most likely too late. unless you are on a straight freeway with plenty of cars in front of you. then "maybe" the laser would bunce off of the cars in front of you. but if they station immediately after a blind turn, you are SOL.

There's only one way to get them to stop. Stop speeding. If everyone stops speeding, they will no longer have the budget nor reason to continue. The more we speed, the more we line thier pockets and the more officers we pay for to pull us over.

nah.... i don't think so... for one, someone will always want to speed until they make all the cars peak at speed limit. (that would be funny... everyone red line at 65MPH... LOL!)

even if that day were to come (no one speed anymore). then they'll target fix-it tickets. once again, these generate income, crime fighting PDs don't.

at the end of the day, they HAVE to target the 'good guys' because only the good guys would pay.

I am not trying to say we should be allow to break the law, just don't think this is fixing much if anything other than making $.

you know, if that TRUELY will reduce/remove the accident and death, so be it. but IMO it's not the speed that kill, it's the stupid drivers!

Stupid drivers FTL!

Speeding tickets and the such are simply unjust taxation. I realize, as most of us do, that speeding is against the law but so is unsafe lane changing and reckless driving. If the CHP were really about making it safer, they'd ticket these offenses more and lay off the moderate speeding. There's definitely something wrong when you're doing the "average" speed of the cars around you and it's 15-20 mph over the "limit". Something needs to change and since we can't get rid of all the incompetent drivers, maybe just up the speed limit to 85 and bust the sh*t out of anyone that exceeds it.

^ +1

Oakland cant get enough police officers yet CHP is filling up it's ranks right, left, and center. Something wrong there.

More CHP + LIDAR + increased front license plate fines = what budget deficit?

There is another way. Contest every ticket. If the cop has to write up a declaration AND show up in court FOR EVERY SINGLE TICKET THEY ISSUE, pretty soon they will not have time to do anything but that.

I agree. Unfortunately, I don't think there's actually room to mount it between our bumper beam and covers. Although, that is a Suby in the photo... I should write them and find out.
