From what I've been reading, Jammers/Scramblers do work against LIDAR too.

But of course, no quotas or anything like that... No sir. Seems like a good plan, get lax and let everyone get used to speeding like mad, then issue a crackdown.

CHP commanders in San Jose are determined to change a disturbing fact: Speeding is the main cause of two out of three highway deaths in the state.

Maybe so, but I expect stupidity is a factor in 19 out of every 20.

If we can just keep stupid people from driving.....

Unless you have a federal license for it, getting caught with one is a misdemeaner.

`People figure if the speed limit is 65, then they can do 85. The reality is that speed kills. It's that simple, and we want to change that.'' in a 65mph crash ur more or less done for, so people going at 85 and crashing isn't going to change the out come. the problem with people speeding are the people that are not speeding (people in the fast/passing (far left) lane driving 65 with a line of cars trying to go around) THUS! tickets should go out to people driving slow in the fast lane. OR the speedlimit should be raised.

That's funny, I always thought it was the "stopping/tumbling real fast" part that actually did the killing...

I know several people that have driven at speeds over 200 mph and lived.

At the same time I knew people who wrecked at speeds of less than 50 mph and died.

From those facts, I would conclude the statement "speed kills" is a gross exaggeration at best and not actually true.

True. And does anyone really believe the CHP are handing out tickets to reduce speeding. They're balancing the budget. Welcome to tax collection 2007+

I believe they are 'balancing the budget' and reduce speeding is the side effect.
