Dude, I hope you've got spidey sense because with the amount of bad drivers around here, the last thing I would want to be on is a motorcycle. Looks like a great bike, so enjoy yourself and above all else, STAY SAFE!!
here's how it went:

Great starter bike! You even got the lower fairing to make it look like a full-faired sport bike. Good job. You might want to check out bayarearidersforum.com for a ton of info on bikes and such. Good luck and have fun riding. I'll be riding soon too.

I am sure that since you have wanted it for so long that you know about svrider.com. There is lots of useful info there.
Start by fixing the suspension. Cheapest route is older gsxr shock, and new springs/oil for the front end.
If you are bored, come out to Sears Point next weekend (22-23) to the AFM races. 650 twins is pretty much dominated by the SV, and all of the racers are great guys.
