If I did get wrx ones I would be using aftermarket springs and probably use something specific to a gc/gf
I hear ya. Look around the RS25 forums classifieds and you can usually find people unloading complete setups (struts+springs) for maybe around $400. The KYB GR-2 can be had for $250-$300 new. You can get some decent springs for $150 too.

The RS struts/springs are stiffer, but I'm not sure if you're looking to drop your car lower as well.

I noticed that some used setups on 25rs come in pretty reasonable. That's good news.

But the downside is that I went to check out the car friday and it wasn't too bad, nothing special with a fair share of dings and dents but I found that the passenger front CV boot was torn and that plenty of grease had splattered about the lower engine bay. I know that it's not a huge deal to replace this part and they do get torn after a while so no big deal. I'm just wondering if it's worth it to come back down, have GST look at it and get it. Of course i'd offer the appropriate price to cover the repairs.

If I could change an axle on my '99 GF wagon in a santa cruz parking lot, in the rain, at night, with half-assed borrowed tools, you can fix that CV boot with no trouble.

I miss that car - solid 26 to 28 mpg, V6 STi suspension, the aforementioned 20mm rear sway, and 225/50 tires on bugeye rims. It handled like it was on rails and went like hell until I sold it to an RS25 member before I even advertised it.

My advice? Get it.
