Miranda, it's all about the "manual". Autos are for rental cars only. You'll never catch me owning an auto. it's all about becoming part of the driving experience. And the automatics just don't give you that. There is nothing better than desiding when you go into the next gear. to hear the engine come to that beautiful sound. not to mention down shifting as you are slowing down to a stop light down shifting and leting out the clutch while your RPM's whind up to 6000 RPM's. HHHHHHMMMMMMMMM!!!!! it's why i drive cars.

Another vote for the Manual.. I have two friends that bought autos and wish they had the manual now. Unless you are driving in stop and go traffic 75% of the time, I would get the MANUAL!!!

It's a ton more fun to drive... and will probably have better resale appeal with this car.

Don't mind Justin. He's just mad that he spent a few grand on mods for the track to yield him the same, if not lower results as a manual wrx w/ a ebc and minor mods.

Hey Fatal Velocity a difference of opinion doesn't mean you need to resort to name calling. Lame.

Speaking from personal experience from an 02' auto wagon to an 04' STi, i would have to say that if you like to do a bit of spirited driving often, then a manual would definately be more fun, but if its a daily driver in a metro area with tons of traffic, an auto is preferable. I love driving the STi everywhere down near SJ and SC, but when i'm in SF, my passengers would not get away without hearing me say "i wish i had driven the wagon today"

Manual is indeed more fun, but the auto doesn't automatically (no pun intended) make it a crappy piece of junk.

Its still fun, just less involved, less accelerative force fun, and you are on the brakes more because you can't engine brake.

I would go for the manual if given the choice again because i'm a youngin' and don't mind the extra effort when driving in traffic, but i wouldn't exactly say avoid the auto like the plague, it all comes down to what you need the car to do for you.

Hell I hardly notice shifting when I'm driving period... isn't it second nature for you kids yet? o.O
It is for me, I actually suck @ driving an auto, seems like everytime I get in one my left foot always tends to slam the brake pedal. My first car was a manual and I have never owned an automatic.
