Yeah, it is different. I know the fire departments were given the option to have the law apply to them, Monterey's decided to accept the law. I guess with the police they figured it was one less piece of equipment to worry about? I dunno, maybe flatline can chime in on this?

i see cops on their cellphones all day, and i remember hearing that they dont have to follow this law for some odd reason like the cellphones are better than the portable radios

That cop was too relax! If I was that cop I would be very high alert and beat the #$% mode. (I'm not a cop) 'Why is that car keep following in excessive speed. May be he has a gun and trying to shoot me? Oh @#$. He's coming out of the car! I gotta take my gun out!'.....

Try that in some part of the bay area - you will get shot or get a contusion. Imagine doing that in Oakland, Richmond, or Antioch. No, way it will be that smooth as shown in the video.

I'm sorry I think the guy is more of a idiot.

Yes, he would have been smart to just let the LEO run off breaking the law. It's the old "I didn't see anything" idea.

The guy showed something retarded done by an officer and at the same time retarded himself for doing so. It isn't hand in hand, the officer's retarded action just because he's an officer already gives him the stupid stick. But then again people like you is why nothing will ever change.

Ok. What I'm trying to say is chasing a cop in a vehicle is not a good idea. It can get too dangerous for yourself and for others, especially if it reaches excessive speed. Any cop will get nervous if I start chasing. Especially, if I exit the vehical immediately upon stop. If I get tazed for it, I think I created that situation.

Probably, the best you can do in that particular situation is file a formal complain against that vehicle plate number. Perhaps, they will know who took that car out that day. Although, one complain may be not much, but if that officer accumulates consistent complain he may get some kind of internal affair.

But then again, that video really doesn't show what that cop was heading or speeding for? Was he responding to a call? Back up? Was he looking for a missing kid? What?

You can't just jump into a conclusion that cop is retarted because he was speeding. That video doesn't really visualize what that cop's intention was. So, it would be imature to conclude him as a retarded just like how you are accusing me as "people like you".

Ok, lets go back to logic 101, if a cop was on some emergency mission, his lights would be on period. I don't care if he's in a rush, if he's in a rush those lights better be on. That is the law, if the lights aren't on, then he's just another regular car on the road BY LAW. So your excuses are null and you thinking of a reason why he is speeding without his lights just flabbergasts me. Thanks for protecting the people with a double standard.

Furthermore, down the road he just pulls over and sites the guy for kidnapping? Pretty funny stuff. Let me park at a park parking lot, and then when a car parks next to me I'll threaten him with kidnapping. I like that one. Creating **** to arrest somebody is another unspoken bull**** rule. It sure didn't look like the cop was going anywhere important, he was just in someone's lawn. LoL

Sorry but you need the big cuz your arguments don't have any logic behind them.

My logic? Officer was speeding cuz he had to take a ****. My dad even saw one burn through a light, and then later on saw the cop pulled in a gas station for a ****, after my dad got there. Great LEO!

so if the cops break the law and no other cops do anything about it, are they allowed to just be free of any wrong doing?

i think what this guy did, although a little stupid, was the right move. Cops abuse their power to much and need to be put in check. Overall, it goes back to two stupid people interacting on video.
