making mud flaps. Help?
So over at ScoobyMods: http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50
There is a sweet how to for mud flaps, but I am wondering what material to use and where to get it?
Anyone done this before?

Material to use (per the article) is low density polyethylene, 1/8" thick sheet. LDPE should be pretty readily available. You might want to call TAP Plastics (not sure where they're located these days, but they're in the area) and see what they say.

I will hopefully be going up to Yreka and meet up with Pete Soper for a pre-check, and then I would like to work the TSD rally event he is putting on. Its hot up there, but soooo beautiful!
My girlfriends mom lives in Weaverville too so I have a place to crash while up there.
but anyways, the point is, I do not want to go searching for a place to get the stuff, and I know someone on here knows where I can get the material.

Plus aluminum is a hell of a lot easier to work with than stainless. My $29,000 Turkish Lira.

There are like four screws in the wheel well where mudflaps would mount... a few hold the side skirts on and there's another random one or two on the far side closer to the engine basically...
Anyhoo, I had some Vacanza (Cusco wagon gear) flaps on my car for a couple years, and they just came with new screws and some decently-sized washers. Flap went on, screws with washers on 'em went through the holes in the flaps and into the stock screw spots. Pretty simple... stayed in place for over 2 years through some crazy snowy winters and everything...
...basically I wouldn't sweat the brackets too much if you don't feel like machining something sweet and custom
...

Of course I haven't looked at the WRX wheel wells so this post could be totally worthless

I am pretty sure you need the brackets. If I have them made, I will have a few sets made.
I am thinking I will just buy some tin snips and a sheet of metal and do it myself.
Where can I buy a sheet of aluminum or stainless steal?
