Or say "Firm"

That worked on my sales. It kept low ballers away!

WTF?..This complaint about lowballers pisses me off.

I wonder how many of you who complain about "lowballers" behave exactly the same way when you are the buyer and you are negotiating with a seller for a used part. The only "fair" price is the price at which the buyer and seller agree upon. If the seller is desperate for money and rent is due in two days, the seller might have to sell below the asking price. Similarly a buyer who is in a hurry (dead tranny, no other car) might end up paying more than what others have paid.

Buyers and sellers should expect to negotiate on the price for used parts. If the price is to low for comfort and you don't want to negotiate, then just say so and leave it at that. No need to beat on people who want to start negotiating with a really low price.

I don't mind negotiating, but seriously - $250 for an AP. That's like if you wanted to sell your WRX and I had a starting offer of $5000 for you. There's a difference between reasonable offers/negotiating the price, and just flat out lowballing.

Its not lowballing, its the art of negotiation.
You're suppose to give a counter offer, and the guy gives his counter offer, etc.

Saying NO just ruins all the fun.

It's one thing for someone to offer $400 when you're asking $425 and the typical sale price for the item in question is $400 - $500 or so. It's lowballing when someone offers $200 for that same item just to see if you'll do it. That is a waste of time.

I also dislike the weird trade offers I sometimes get. I forget what I was selling last year but it was an item for about $250 or so. Some guy offered to trade me his xbox and 3 games for the tiem I was selling .

I should have countered his $250 offer with my highball offer of $1000

What fun? It's not a game/hobby for me to sell used parts, and I'm not running a business doing so. So, it just wastes my time to have to go back and forth when someone is obviously trying to offer me much less than my asking price (usually a price which I feel is the fair market value based on research on others' sales). Like sonicsuby, I don't mind negotiating for $25-50 when it's an expensive item. However, I do get annoyed when people ask for several hundreds off.

*shrug* The last used parts I purchased were a set of Ganador (cf-look) mirrors about 2 years ago. The seller offered them for $350, and I purchased them for $350.

I get more lowballers here than there

Also, I get hella flakers here also

Everytime i've listed something on nasioc its been a quick sale.

I guess its mainly because the people here are locals and think that i'm looking for a quick sale.

I could careless, I rather get full price and ship something out than to deal with like 10 people lowballing...then on top of that people saying "yea i'll take it for sure, i'll pick it up next week" then when the time comes...."ohh sorry dude, something came up and I can't get it anymore"

This all goes back to that whole dibs thing...dibs is a bunch of bullsh!t and no one comes through on it (ok fine, 90% of people don't come trhough on it)
